Shatili is connected to the outside world by the only narrow road leading to the Arghun Valley.
Tour to Mutso, Anatori and Chargali
Mutso - Mutso is a small village in Georgia. One of the former strongholds of the historic Georgian province of Khevsureti (now part of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region), it is located on a rocky mountain (1880 m) on the right bank of the Andakistskali river. The village, almost completely abandoned more than a century ago, is a home to approximately 30 medieval fortified dwelling units arranged on vertical terraces above the Mutso-Ardoti gorge, four combat towers and ruins of several old structures and buildings. Difficult to access, the village retains original architecture, and is a popular destination for tourists and mountain trekkers. Listed, however, among the most endangered historic monuments of Georgia, a project of the rehabilitation of Mutso has been developed since 2004. In 2019, the reconstructed village won the EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Award.
Shatili - Anatori (Nasoflari) - an archeological-architectural monument located 2.3 km northeast of Shatili, at the confluence of the rivers Arghun and Mutsostskali, on a rocky mountain.
Archaeological excavations at Nasoplar in 1974-1976 were carried out by the Jinwali Archaeological Expedition of the IAEA Institute (headed by R. Ramishvili). In the eastern part of the village, terraced buildings with a dry pile of slate stone and slate and mud buildings of the XI-XV centuries were discovered.
Chargali - Vazha-Pshavela House-Museum in Chargali - Museum in the village of Chargali, Dusheti Municipality. Historical monument in the central part of Chargali village of Dusheti municipality. The house has one floor, two rooms. It is built of cobblestone and crushed stone.
