The Musandam region, isolated from the rest of Oman by the United Arab Emirates, is the northernmost part of the Sultanate. The striking Musandam peninsula is arguably one of the most visually stunning areas in the Gulf. These breathtaking fjords have earned the area the nickname “The Norway of Arabia.” The peninsula is primarily inhabited by the Shihuh, who are fishermen and herdsmen, likely descended from the original settlers of northern Oman. Fishing is the peninsula’s primary industry, with processing plants located in al-Khasab and Bay’ah. Transportation is predominantly by sea, as no roads traverse the challenging terrain.
Musandam - Khasab is conveniently close to the United Arab Emirates and easily accessible by road for visitors from the UAE.
Musandam - Khasab is uniquely distinguished by its spectacular fjords, natural dolphins, coastal views, tallest mountain, historical Telegraph & Seebi Island, and Bedouin villages in the fjords and mountains.
