Katlyn, a lifelong resident of Ketchikan, will be your guide and driver. She will pick you up in a blue high-top 13-passenger transit van. Upon pickup, you will be offered water, chips, and small candies, which will also be available at each stop. Katlyn will provide a brief city tour as she takes you to Herring Cove, where you may have the opportunity to see local wildlife such as black bears, deer, eagles, whales, seals, and salmon. You will have 30-45 minutes to take photos and ask questions about the wildlife. The next stop will be the Waterfall, where you can take pictures and explore some rainforest. The final stop is Rotary Beach, where you can look for starfish, crabs, and sea anemones. Please note that this beach is rocky. There is space to store a wheelchair in the back of the van. Waterproof shoes are highly recommended. If wildlife is spotted from the van, the tour will adjust to allow time to observe the wildlife. The best times for wildlife viewing are from June to August, while tours in April, May, September, and October are more focused on scenic views.
