Nairobi to Mara
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Between 7:00 and 7:30 am, the operator will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi city center/Westlands and begin the journey to Maasai Mara. The drive includes a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, offering a stunning view of the Rift Valley floor. Here, you can admire the semi-active Mt. Longonot and two dormant volcanic mountains, Mt. Suswa and Mt. Margaret, for about 10 minutes. Arrival is scheduled in time for lunch, followed by hotel check-in. At 4:00 pm, depart for a two-hour evening sunset game drive in the Mara Reserve, concluding at 6:00 pm. Return to the camp for a delicious buffet dinner and a restful night at the camp.
Full Day Game Drive
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Start the day with an early breakfast at 6:30 am, then set off for a full day of game viewing. This day is crucial as there is a chance to spot the Big Five, particularly the elusive big cats. The itinerary includes a visit to the renowned Mara River, where the great migration occurs. Enjoy a guided tour by rangers to observe Nile crocodiles and hippo families, and savor a picnic lunch under a tree in the park, overlooking the expansive landscapes.
The Mara is home to one of nature’s most spectacular events: the great migration. This annual migration involves millions of wildebeest and zebras moving from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture, followed closely by savanna predators such as lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.
Mara - Lake Nakuru (via Lake Naivasha for Boat Ride)
Lake Nakuru National Park - After breakfast at the camp/lodge, travel to Nakuru via Lake Naivasha for an hour-long boat ride, with lunch included. There is an optional morning visit to a Maasai Village in Maasai Mara before departure, costing USD 20 per person (payable in cash at the village). Arrival in Nakuru is expected in the late evening.
Nakuru to Amboseli
Amboseli National Park - Enjoy an early breakfast, check out, and depart by 7:00 am for a game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. This small park is home to magnificent, rare white rhinos, part of the Big Five. The game drive lasts at least four hours, with opportunities to see pink flamingos and the rare endangered Rothschild giraffe.
Afterward, proceed to Amboseli National Park, with lunch en route at Naivasha Kifaru Travellers Motel. Arrival in Amboseli is in the evening, with no game drive due to the late arrival.
Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli
Amboseli National Park - Begin with an early morning breakfast, followed by a full day in the park with a packed lunch. The day is spent searching for popular residents like well-known predators and their counterparts, such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, all with a view of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Amboseli to Nairobi
Amboseli National Park - After an early morning breakfast, check out and enjoy a morning game drive en route. Then, begin the drive back to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at your hotel. This marks the end of the safari, with drop-off at your hotel in Nairobi or the airport.
