Mount Kenya - Depart Nairobi at 7:30 am heading to Nanyuki town for lunch, a journey of approximately 4 hours. Continue to Sirimon Gate, which takes about 1 hour, at an altitude of 2440m. From the gate, follow the path as it ascends through the forest, transitioning to heathland after roughly 3 hours. Approximately 3½ hours from the gate, the path turns right towards Old Moses Camp, at 3300m, for dinner and an overnight stay.
Old Moses to Shiptons
Mount Kenya - After breakfast, continue uphill, taking the left fork at the junction. One hour from Old Moses Camp, the path crosses the Ontulili River. Proceed right, contouring through the Moorland, crossing Liki North, and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley, offering panoramic views of the main peaks. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Shipton Camp, at 4200m.
Shipton Camp to Point Lenana to Old Moses Camp 9-10hrs, 21km
Mount Kenya - Depart at 3 am, ascending a steep, rocky quarry that cuts through a cliff, reaching Point Lenana around 6 am, after about 3 hours. Following the sunrise, descend to Shipton Camp in 2 hours for breakfast, then continue for another 4 hours down to Old Moses Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Old Moses to Sirimon Gate to Nairobi 2-3hrs, 9km
Mount Kenya - After breakfast, descend through the rainforest for 2 hours to meet the transport vehicle for the return journey to Nairobi.
