Great place to spend a couple of hours. Interesting and informative tour. - Interesting and informative look behind the scenes at the distillery. Tastings afterwards. Lovely knowledgeable and attentive staff. Had nice lunch beforehand in the outdoor area. Indoor eating areas are great also. Little shop selling wide range of distillery items and other Tasmanian products.

Great tour and tasting - We did the daily tour with tasting. Parking right next to the distillery, knowledgable guide and a great tasting. We have taken a whole range of spirits home (got them delivered to our house for free as we were still travelling).

Distillery visit - Very nice place to spend few hours. We visited the the distillery and tried few whiskey and gins. Everyone very friendly and passionate. Must go not far from Hobart.

A welcome stop just off the highway, as it should be, evoking bygone days - I’ve been to OKD a few times now and am always treated like an old friend. Their cellar door tastings are a welcome treat, and the food from their cafe is a highlight of the trip between Hobart and Launceston. Their distillery tour and tastings are both of a very high quality, and presented by people who are clearly passionate about their product and processes. Do not miss the chance to stop in

Yummy morning stop off - Had a great introduction to the distillery tasting by a very friendly young man. We then had Devonshire tea with half whisky scones. Wish we had ordered all whisky scones as they were delicious. We sat by the fire enjoying this yummy pit stop. Thank you for a lovely stop.

A lovely day - This was a lovely visit to the Kempton Distillery with a tour which included the history of the building...and I love a bit of history!! The platter for lunch was really nice and it was no trouble for my tasting left overs to be placed into mini bottles to take home....

Old Kempton Distillery Tour - Great experience. Enjoy the tasting of both Whiskey and Gin and very friendly staff .A must do when in Tasmania.

Great food and experience - I have recently completed a distilling training course at Old Kempton. The experience was awesome and the food and hospitality was next level. If you are planning a visit to the region, be sure to plan to visit Old Kempton for a tasting and a meal you will not be disappointed.

The friendly & knowledgable team made for a great tour, tasting & lunch - We arrived between tours on a Saturday, but were offered a private tour of the distillery as they were not busy (no extra cost). We had a fantastic tour with Cody. We learnt about the history of the property and its owners in addition to a very detailed explanation of the distilling process. The distillery is small and while only the latter parts of the distilling process are carried out at Old Kempton, we found the explanation of the processes to be very informative, with Cody being very knowledgable and entertaining at the same time. He also shared a great deal of knowledge during our gin tasting. We ordered the antipasto platter for two for lunch. It was truely amazing, with both lots of variety and food. The young lady in the tasting room was also extremely friendly and helpful. While the historic and beautiful property is the perfect location for the distillery, it is the staff that really made this a memorable experience.
