Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka’s most significant Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha. During puja (offerings or prayers), the heavily guarded room containing the tooth is open to devotees and tourists. However, the tooth itself is not visible as it is kept in a gold casket shaped like a dagoba (stupa), which contains a series of six dagoba caskets of decreasing size.

Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden - The Nuwara Eliya tea factory visited is called Damro Labookellie Tea Centre (formerly Mackwoods) and is the oldest tea center in Sri Lanka. Their tea bushes are replanted every 100 years across over 5,000 hectares of lush tea plantations. In this tea factory, they produce white and black tea, while green tea is processed in another factory and then sent to Damro. Each type of tea has a unique production process, which can be learned about during a tea factory tour.

Gregory Lake - Lake Gregory, also known as Gregory Reservoir, is a reservoir in the heart of the tea country hill city of Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka.
Nine Arches Bridge - The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is on the Demodara loop and spans 91 meters at a height of 24 meters. The beautiful nine arches make it a very picturesque spot, especially as it is located in a dense jungle and agricultural setting. Behind the railway, a forest thrives, and below, tea leaves are cultivated. It’s truly one of the most amazing places to visit in Sri Lanka.

Believed to have the highest density of leopards per square kilometer in the world, Yala covers an area of 1,260 square kilometers and is divided into five blocks. Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project - The Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery is approximately 40 minutes from Taru Villas - 906 in Hikkaduwa and is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the endangered turtles that visit Sri Lanka. The hatchery provides a sanctuary for turtle eggs and injured turtles by rehabilitating them. To protect the population of turtles that visit the shores to nest, the hatchery collects and safeguards the eggs within their premises until they are ready to hatch and make their way back to the ocean. Visitors might even get a chance to release some hatchlings back into the sea, making it a perfect holistic experience for anyone.
