- Weight restrictions of 275lbs per person with a total not to exceed weight of 620lbs
- Weights are taken at check-in with all items. If weight restrictions are exceeded, we will cancel the tour and no refund will be given
- Minimum age to participate is 7 yrs old. Ages 7-11 years must sit next to a closed door. Ages 12 yrs and older may sit next to an open door
- Check-in 40 minutes prior to tour time. Late check-ins will be considered a no show and subject to full price
- Check-in is at 3501 Rice Street. You will then drive 5 minutes to Lihue Airport Helipad for your flight

Amazing. Spend the money and do it. You won’t regret it. - This is hands down the best experience we have done. We did the doors off tour of Kauai, and it was absolutely amazing. With Mauna Loa, it’s a private tour so you capitalize on the experience and get a more personable experience.
Our pilot Tim was awesome! He was personable, knowledgable, made my wife feel safe as it was her first time in a helicopter.
If you’re considering a helicopter tour of Kauai, go with Mauna Loa—you won’t regret it!

Amazing.... Bucket list.... CHECK!!! - Highly recommend! We were able to make a last minute booking when another company left us hanging. Matt, our pilot, was very knowledgeable, friendly and we felt incredibly safe with him. He gave us so much information and let us know where and when to look. There was so much! Their reservation process is very easy and they offer a military discount. We will hire them again!

Breathtaking experience. Loved it. - The tour was amazing. We had toured the island in a rental stopping at many sites but there is no comparison to seeing the island in a helicopter. I would spend the money and skip the rental car.

- FANTASTIC! This was an unforgettable experience. Nate, our pilot, was a great guide. The island is beautiful and he highlighted so many things. The doors off added a thrill. Everything about dealing with this company was great.

Mesmerizing experience! - Wow! What a once in a lifetime experience that was! Wort every single dollar. The views, the wind in our hair, ohh man what an adventure! Our pilot Tim was so nice and knowledgeable! What a great dude! Don’t think about it, just book it!

Exhilarating Experience with Moana Loa Helicopter Tours! - Although this was our first helicopter ride, our pilot Gray immediately put us at ease. The views were spectacular! We flew over the entire island of Kauai and especially enjoyed seeing Waimea Canyon with all of the waterfalls and the Napali Coastline from the air. It was also cool to see the places that we had visited during the week from a different viewpoint: Hanalei Bay, Opaekaa Falls, Wailua Falls and Sleeping Giant. We highly recommend this adventure!

- I surprised my girlfriend with a trip to Kauai for our one-year anniversary, including a helicopter tour of the Na Pali Coast with Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours—something she’s always dreamed of doing. The night before our tour, I revealed the surprise at dinner, and we were both thrilled. We woke up at 5:00 AM, drove 1 hour and 20 minutes to their Lihue location, buzzing with excitement. Just 20 minutes before we arrived, we got a call saying the pilot was stuck in traffic and they had to rebook us. Frustrating, but we stayed optimistic and rescheduled for later that day.
When we arrived for the rescheduled flight, the pilot seemed ready but said he needed to check the wind. He returned and told us it was too windy to fly, despite other helicopters taking off nearby. We explained we were only in Kauai for one more day and this tour was the main reason for our trip, but he suggested rebooking for the next day. I was beyond frustrated—our anniversary day was being derailed—but we agreed to reschedule, wasting half our day.
The next day, we were ready again. The weather was sunny, perfect for flying, and our excitement was back. Then, 30 minutes before our flight, we got another call: the tour was canceled, with no clear explanation. I was livid. We could see helicopters from other companies flying overhead, and when I called around, nearly every other tour operator confirmed they were flying that day. Mauna Loa canceled on us three times, ruining our anniversary and the highlight of our trip. It felt like we picked the wrong company entirely.
I strongly advise others to be cautious with Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours. Their unreliability and lack of clear communication left us feeling cheated out of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Look into other operators with better track records before booking.
