Embark on a guided adventure in Kauai that’s perfect for the whole family, involving kayaking across the riveting Wailua river valley and hiking to the Uluwehi falls, better known as Secret Falls. Our professional tour guide will accompany you as you paddle through some of Kauai’s most revered waterways and trek through its stunning tropical forest, weaving myths, legends, and snippets of Hawaiian history into the journey towards the Secret Falls.
- We depart immediately after check-in so no late arrivals will be permitted
- Not recommended for participants with recent back, knee or ankle injuries
- No open wounds
- Participants must be in good physical condition and able to hike approximately two miles through rocky, muddy and slippery terrain
- Must wear shoes that are secure to your feet. No flip flops.
- Please bring plenty of water.
- Other recommended items to bring: swimsuits, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, snacks, and a towel.
- Ziploc bags should be used for cell phones or cameras that are not waterproof
- No alcohol
- Age restriction is 13-69
- Not recommended for travelers with recent knee, ankle or back injuries

Turn off KUHIO hwy into the shopping plaza with the green building which is across the street from the Shell gas station. Look for the STAND UP PADDLE shop and Dukes Kayak Adventures sandwich board next to it. Feel free to park nearby and your guide will meet you and take care of you from there.

Loved the kayaking part... - Loved the kayaking part of the trip, scenic and calm water. Hike was very busy and a bit crowded at the falls with other tour groups. We really enjoyed the guide's stories about the flowers, birds, trees and history of the area.

Amazing time! My husband... - Amazing time! My husband and I went with our 2 kids, 8 and 12. It was great. Could do the kayak with only one adult paddling. Makayla our tour guide was amazing! She made sure everyone was doing well and made personal connections with each of us. She even made my 12 year old a co-tour guide and helping her lead her whole crew. She was also extremely knowledgeable with everything there. I absolutely love her and the adventure, highly recommend!

Great family outdoor adventure. - Great experience! This is a 4.5-5 hour outing. Kayak 2 miles to trailhead, hike 1.5 miles to the falls crossing four streams and back out. I thought the instructions to bring hiking and water shoes were confusing -- bring one pair of shoes that work for both. My Chacos were a good choice and Keens would be even better. Some slippery spots on trail were the most difficult parts but not too physically taxing on the hike. Beautiful destination and Zach was a great guide. Really glad we did it.

Kayak/hike bliss - Kayaking was early morning bliss, red carpet hike was muddy mess that washed away at refreshing water fall. Makayla our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny, she made every part of this tour even more memorable, requesting her is a must for all.

Great Adventure! Highly Recommend! - What a fun day!! Kayaking the Wailua River, hiking with stream crossings, and a beautiful waterfall with a refreshing swim! Our guide Zach was amazing. He was enthusiastic, informative and very entertaining (Lots of great jokes! Bring some to share with him!). He was also so helpful to anyone who needed it. Lots of beauty, great activity (strenuous, but fun!), and a day that will make you feel like you experienced some of the best of Kauai. Highly recommend!

We booked this tour to... - We booked this tour to Secret falls as we are not experienced with Kayaking. We are not huge on group tours but very much enjoyed this tour with Mikayla. She was very personable, straightforward and informative. She also was great at giving you time to do things at your own pace and very great at communicating expectations. Highly recommend! We had lots of fun kayaking and hiking to secret falls very scenic!

Zack was amazing. Full of... - Zack was amazing. Full of information about the plants and history of the walk. So fun. Our group were from 17-60 years old. Easy for all of us. The waterfall is worth the walk and plenty of breaks. The water was totally fun. Lots of paddling but so much fun.

Loved the adventure with Hawaiian Brian! - We had a great time with our guide Hawaiian Brian. He was a great guide and would highly recommend a tour with him. I can’t recommend him more highly and hope he looks us up in Tampa!
That said, we had a pair in our group who really shouldn’t have come along. If you can’t paddle along by yourself (or have a partner who can paddle for you), you really shouldn’t come. It’s not something that requires great fitness, but if you’re not fit (at all) you really shouldn’t drag the rest of the group down.
