- Dambulla Cave Temple - On day 2, guests will travel to Dambulla to visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. Constructed by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C., this World Heritage Site is the most remarkable of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex features five caves with over 2,000 square meters of painted walls and ceilings, the largest collection of paintings in the world. It houses over 150 Buddha images, including a colossal 14-meter figure carved from rock.
Guests will check into a hotel in Dambulla, Sigiriya, or Habarana.
- Minneriya National Park - In the late afternoon, guests will transfer to Minneriya National Park for a Jeep safari, followed by an overnight stay at a hotel in Dambulla, Sigiriya, or Habarana.
- Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - On day 3, after breakfast, guests will transfer to Sigiriya to climb the 5th-century Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a World Heritage Site built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). Known as the “Lion Rock,” this citadel rises 200 meters from the jungle.
- Ancient City of Polonnaruwa - On day 3, in the afternoon, guests will visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, the second capital of Sri Lanka after Anuradhapura’s destruction in 993. It includes Brahmanic monuments built by the Cholas and the monumental ruins of the garden-city created by Parakramabahu I in the 12th century.
- Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - On day 4, guests will transfer to Kandy in the evening to visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. This world-renowned place of worship enshrines the left canine tooth of Gautama Buddha and was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988.
- Ella - On day 5, guests will transfer to Ella, visiting a tea factory along the way. They will take a train journey from Nanuoya to Ella.
- Nine Arches Bridge - On day 6, guests will visit the Nine Arches Bridge in Ella. Designed to accommodate a challenging nine-degree curve and steep gradient, the bridge was built entirely by local labor under British supervision and completed in 1919. It showcases innovative engineering solutions, including concrete cornice blocks for arch support and locally produced sand-cement blocks for facing.
- Little Adam’s Peak View Point - After visiting the Nine Arches Bridge, guests will visit Little Adam’s Peak View Point in Ella. Named for its resemblance to the iconic Adam’s Peak near Hatton, Little Adam’s Peak stands 1,141 meters above sea level. Visitors only need to hike a few hundred meters on a 2-kilometer trail.
- Galle Fort - On day 6, in the afternoon, guests will visit Galle Dutch Fort. Located in the Bay of Galle on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, the fort was initially built in 1588 by the Portuguese and extensively fortified by the Dutch from 1649 onwards. It is a historical, archaeological, and architectural heritage monument that maintains a polished appearance due to extensive reconstruction by the Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.
