Negombo to Kandy Via Pinnawala

Kandy - An English-speaking chauffeur will warmly welcome guests at their hotel in Negombo or at the Bandaranaike International Airport, and transport them to Kandy. En route, a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage offers a chance to observe these magnificent creatures in a nurturing environment.

Kandy - A guided tour of the Temple of the Tooth with a local historian will cover the temple, royal palace, and other points of interest. The Temple of the Tooth Relic houses a replica of the sacred tooth, along with its intricately decorated caskets. These treasures are ceremoniously displayed annually during the “Esala Perahera,” a captivating ten-day festival featuring vibrant drummers, dancers, and elaborately adorned elephants.

Kandy - Later in the day, guests will embark on a Kandy City Tour and enjoy a cultural performance showcasing traditional folk dances, adding a rich cultural dimension to their experience.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya - After breakfast, guests will travel to Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England” for its colonial charm. Along the way, stops include the Royal Botanical Gardens and the stunning Ramboda Falls, a breathtaking natural attraction. The itinerary also includes a visit to a tea plantation and factory, offering an opportunity to witness the fascinating process of tea production. In the afternoon, a comprehensive city tour will explore the highlights of Nuwara Eliya, delving into its unique character and picturesque surroundings.

Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains

Nuwara Eliya - A picnic breakfast will be packed for guests, who will leave the hotel for Horton Plains before 6:00 am. The guided walk, approximately 4-4.5 hours, offers the chance to see endemic fauna and flora, including sambar deer and, if lucky, leopards. Alternatively, guests can trek through the tea bushes via Single Tree Hill to reach a summit with a panoramic view of Nuwara Eliya City, recommended for families with children under six.

In the afternoon, guests can indulge in a delightful high tea experience at the Heritage Grand Hotel.

Nuwara Eliya to Yala

Yala - Guests will be taken to the Nanu Oya station to embark on one of the world’s most scenic train rides to Ella Station, on the Ella Odyssey (subject to availability). After the journey, they will be picked up from Ella station and taken to see the famous Nine Arches Bridge.

In the late afternoon, guests will have the perfect opportunity to visit the bustling city of Ella, renowned for its lively ambiance, stunning views, and diverse dining experiences. Whether craving fresh seafood, local delicacies, or international cuisine, Ella offers something to suit every palate.

Yala

Yala National Park - An exciting safari tour in Yala National Park awaits, renowned for its diverse experiences. Guests will enjoy a thrilling ride through dense jungles, golden sandy beaches, and abundant wildlife spotting opportunities. Yala boasts the world’s highest chance of seeing a leopard, along with a wide variety of stunning bird species. Guests are advised to consult their guide to arrange an early morning or afternoon safari for the best experience.

Yala to Galle

Galle - After breakfast, guests will proceed to the south coast. In the afternoon, a guided walk of the Galle Fort with a local expert will take place on the ramparts of the Galle Dutch fortress, where guests will learn about the fort’s history and experience the attractions of this UNESCO World Heritage site. A visit to a Turtle Hatchery and the Mask Museum is also included. From Galle, guests will be transferred to the airport, where a representative will meet them to bid farewell.
