Negombo to Sigiriya

Sigiriya, The Ancient Rock Fortress - On Day 2, after enjoying breakfast, the journey to Sigiriya begins. Upon arrival, you will check into a hotel for a brief rest before embarking on an evening climb of Sigiriya Rock.

Sigiriya, also known as Sinhagiri, is an ancient rock fortress situated in the northern Matale District near Dambulla in Sri Lanka’s Central Province. The site is of historical and archaeological importance, featuring a massive rock column nearly 200 meters high.

Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa

Polonnaruwa Vatadage - Following breakfast the next morning, you will explore the archaeological city of Polonnaruwa. Afterward, enjoy a delightful lunch before heading to one of the renowned national parks. Later, return to the hotel in Sigiriya for an overnight stay.

Sigiriya to Kandy

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - After breakfast, the tour continues to the famous city of Kandy. En route, visit a spice garden before arriving at the hotel in Kandy.

Kandy is a major city in central Sri Lanka, set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforests. The city’s centerpiece is the picturesque Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), popular for leisurely strolls. Kandy is renowned for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand annual Esala Perahera procession.

Exploring Kandy

Kandy View Point - After breakfast, explore Kandy, visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa) and the botanical garden. Spend the night at the hotel in Kandy.

Sri Dalada Maligawa, or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, housing the Buddha’s tooth relic.

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya, are about 5.5 km west of Kandy in Sri Lanka’s Central Province. In 2016, the gardens attracted 1.2 million local and 400,000 foreign visitors. Situated near the Mahaweli River, the gardens are famous for their orchid collection.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (Little England) via Ella

Blue Field Tea Factory - After breakfast, transfer to Nuwara Eliya, also known as Little England. Along the way, enjoy views of tea plantations and beautiful waterfalls.

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the central Sri Lankan hills, known for its tea country. The Hakgala Botanical Gardens feature roses, tree ferns, and are home to monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby is the Seetha Amman Temple.

Continue the journey to Ella.

Ella to Tissamaharama

Little Adam’s Peak View Point - Start the day early. After breakfast, explore Ella’s scenic spots, including Little Adam’s Peak, a scenic peak accessible by steps and a moderate hiking trail, offering stunning sunrise views.

Nine Arch Bridge - The Nine Arch Bridge, also known as the Bridge in the Sky, is a viaduct bridge in Sri Lanka. It is a prime example of colonial-era railway construction, attributed to local builder P. K. Appuhami, in consultation with British engineers.

Continue to Tissamaharama to visit the famous Yala National Park. On the way, see the beautiful Rawana Waterfall. Upon arrival at the hotel, enjoy lunch and prepare for a visit to Yala National Park. After an exciting park adventure, return to the hotel for rest.

Yala National Park is a vast area of forest, grassland, and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean in southeast Sri Lanka.

Tissamaharama to Mirissa

Mirissa Beach - After breakfast, transfer to Mirissa. Upon arrival, check into a hotel and spend the night relaxing at Mirissa Beach.

Mirissa Beach - Enjoy a leisurely day at Mirissa Beach. Upon request, a boat trip can be arranged. Overnight stay in Mirissa.

Mirissa to Airport Drop

Bandaranaike International Airport - The drive from Mirissa to the airport takes approximately 3 to 4 hours. On the final day of this wonderful tour, there is no set itinerary. After breakfast, drive to Galle Fort for a brief visit, time permitting (if not possible today, this can be done on Day 9).

Galle Fort - Located in the Bay of Galle on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, Galle Fort was initially built in 1588 by the Portuguese and extensively fortified by the Dutch in the 17th century from 1649 onwards.

Depart for Bandaranaike International Airport in time for your flight (at least 2-3 hours before departure), marking the conclusion of this tour.
