Tough Climb. Great View - We went up late afternoon for the sunset. You first go through a garden full of butterflies and then Stop at a buddhist temple. You then climb up rock steps for a long while and at the top part there is some clambering with ropes. There is a slightly tighter part and then bouldering to the top. It was a tiring climb in the heat but a wo default sunset view across to lion rock and of the Sigiriya landscape. Lots of bats in the air at sunset. We did on the last bouldering part have a bit of a wait as there was a jam between uppers and downers so to speak. Really glad to have completed it and enjoyed the views.

Be ready for the view and to wait - Oh god….what a view…go with comfortable shoes because u need to climb some rocks. In my opinion is not for everyone, you need to understand that what goes up will go down from the same place. Avoid the sunset or be ready to spend 1 hour to go down because most of the people are not civilized and the make sure to go in front of u.

Great view of Lion’s Rock - Adventurous walk partly via stairs and partly via rock climbing. Very nice and within 30 minutes we were upstairs. Last piece the children (9 and 5 years) needed some extra help, but that is quickly found with other tourists or locals. 360 degree views are spectacular and excellent for taking beautiful pictures of the Lion’s Rock. It is recommended to go early before sunrise or late afternoon before sunset. Entrance 1,000 rupees (+/- 3.25 euros) per adult, children free. Highly recommended to do.

Beautiful view - Nice ascent of the 2nd rock or mountain in Sigiriya. As mentioned earlier, this rock fits much better in the budget than the more than 10 times more expensive adjacent Lion's Rock. With the tuktuk you are quite quickly at the entrance which is via the temple. Then you walk up in half an hour. First and canniest part via the uneven stairs, monkeys and other animals. Then the reclining Buddha and a little bit of clambering to get on top. Good to do and on top of the rock the view is amazing. Entry through the temple is 1,000 LKR Climb up for about 30 minutes. Upstairs you are an hour to watch, take pictures and watch people.

Spectacular view - The Pidurangala rock is spectacular. You have to invest some energy to get up there but it is definetly worth it. Try to catch the sunset or sunrise. The last part is very tricky. You have to be very careful when you come down to not miss a step. It could be dangerous

Superb walk with incredible view - The Piduralanga offers a magnificent view of Lion Rock The ascent is not very easy on the last part and there are a lot of people at the top at sunset but the view is incredible! Access is payable for a small fee

Very nice viewpoint, but overflowing - Beautiful viewpoint with 15 min climb and a key point that many Touris sneakers are not up to. Therefore, the descent after sunset takes quite a long time. But views and monkeys reward you for it. Clear recommendation.

You're not alone! - We had read about how nice it was to climb this cliff and see Lion Rock outside of many other tourists and we went up there to see the view at sunset There were a lot of other tourists who also thought... There was a lot of crowded at the end and the ascent therefore took a total of 1 hour instead of 25 minutes. And then the sun was hidden behind clouds 😅 But the view was amazing!
