A Powerful and Sacred Experience – Arati Pooja at Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal - Witnessing the Arati Pooja at the sacred Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu was a deeply moving and unforgettable experience. Held every evening on the banks of the Bagmati River, this ritual is a beautiful expression of devotion to Lord Shiva, combining sacred fire, mantras, music, and ancient tradition.
Whether you’re on a spiritual journey or simply exploring the cultural richness of Nepal, I highly recommend attending the Arati Pooja at Pashupatinath. It’s more than just a ritual—it’s a sacred passage into the soul of Nepalese heritage.
Whether you're a devotee or a curious traveler, witnessing the Arati Pooja at Pashupatinath is a must. It's not just a religious ceremony; it's a spiritual celebration that touches the heart and stays with you long after you leave.
Thanks a lot to our amazing guide, Amber and Mani for making it happen our last moment before departure back home ! See you again in next journey

Pashupatinath Temple complete our journey in Nepal - After having few reschedules to experience the Aarati Pooja due to flight delays, Mani and Amber finally did this for us at the last day of our trip to Nepal before leaving to the airport.
What a perfect way to bid farewell to Nepal.
Considered very sacred and respectful rituals of the Hindus sending their late family members back to the Creator.
The crowd is overwhelming starting from the process of cleaning the deceased followed with chanting from the priest and Hindu's cultural show until it is ushered to the cremation area.
Aarati Pooja starts at 6.30pm and finishes around 7.30pm, it is recommended to arrive earlier for good spot before the temple gets too crowded.

The event was very crowded, but they made sure we had a good view.

Interesting Late Afternoon City Tour in Kathmandu - TITLE OF REVIEW: *Interesting Late Afternoon City Tour in Kathmandu*
Arrived at 6.30pm, less than 10mins short walk passing by cremation site and finally reached the outdoor seating area.
Prior to the ritual, our guide on that day, Amber and Mani, also walked us to Master Tilopa and Naropa's meditation site to pay pilgrims along the Bagmati river by the caves.
Very much worth to experience Hindu's cremation ritual followed with chanting and traditional ritual dances with candle-lit offering by the priest where the audience will chant along until the ritual is done.

Knowledgeable guide - The guide was very knowledgeable and explained a lot about the history of the temple, the Hindu religion and the aarati pooja. Although it was extremely busy he did his best to find us a good viewpoint. I really enjoyed this experience and it was something different compared to the usual tours in the area.
The guide gave me the history of some of the other traditions too and gave me advice on other places to visit in Kathmandu.
