Drive to Pokhara (910m); Duration: 6-7 hours
Pokhara - Start your day early for the journey to the renowned lakeside city of Pokhara. Your guide will collect you from your hotel around 6:30 AM. Together, you’ll head to a nearby bus station to board the tourist bus to Pokhara, departing at 7:30 AM. The journey takes about six to seven hours, passing through scenic river valleys, terraced fields of barley and rice, and lush green hills. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the evening exploring. Pokhara is located on the beautiful Phewa Lake, where many visitors take a boat ride to admire the view of Machapuchare towering over the town. For an even better view, visit the nearby Sarangkot lookout, where Machapuchare is joined by the peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna II. After dinner, return to your hotel for a restful night.
Drive to Phedi and Trek to Pothana (1,925m); Duration: 4 hours
Phedi Khola - Begin your adventure on the Mardi Himal Trek! After an early breakfast in Pokhara, travel to the small town of Phedi, a trip of less than an hour. Today’s hike takes you through shaded forests and small villages, ascending stone staircases. Dhampus is a perfect spot for a lunch break, offering captivating views of the Annapurna range. After lunch, continue hiking to Pothana, a charming village with traditional stone homes and paved paths, along with modern touches like souvenirs and snacks. While many trekkers continue to Pitam Deurali, you’ll stop here to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and stunning mountain views. Overnight in one of Pothana’s cozy guesthouses.
Trek to Forest Camp at Kokar (2,600m); Duration: 4 hours
Accessible Adventure Pvt. Ltd. - Trek uphill along a ridge towards Mardi Himal and Macchhapuchhre. The tree line thins, with shrubs and isolated rhododendron bushes along the trail. If fortunate, you might spot the Daphne pheasant (Nepal’s national bird) on the way to high camp. Ascend to the high camp, the day’s final destination, offering breathtaking mountain views. Overnight at high camp.
Trek to High Camp (3,600m); Duration: 6-7 hours

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the occasional sunlight piercing the misty woods, enhancing the Himalayas’ mysterious mood. After a few hours, stop for lunch at Low Camp, enjoying views of Machapuchare’s fishtail-shaped summit. As the trail turns west, glimpse the glaciated peaks of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Continue along the ridgeline as trees thin, passing rhododendron bushes. This area is rich in wildlife, where the Himalayan monal is often seen. Approaching High Camp, enjoy a 360-degree panorama of snowbound canyons, soaring mountains, and steep cliffs. It’s a view like no other.
Trek to Upper View Point (4,250 m) – 2.5 hours / Base Camp (4,500m) – 4 hours. Trek back to Low Camp (3,050 m) – 6/7 hr

The trail follows a well-trodden path through grassy pastures, though steep and narrow at times. You’ll likely see dzo grazing; a hybrid of yak and cattle. In summer, these pastures serve as grazing grounds for sheep and goats, with herders’ huts along the way. Keep an eye out for the colorful danphe if missed earlier. After about three hours, reach the Upper View Point, a rocky outlook at approximately 4,200 meters, offering breathtaking views into the Annapurna Sanctuary, home to Mardi Himal’s massive peaks.
Trek to Siding Village (1,750m); Duration: 6 hours
Accessible Adventure Pvt. Ltd. - It’s time to leave the high Himalayas, but the return journey offers a new route to complete the Mardi Himal Trek. Depart High Camp and trek towards Low Camp, where the path diverges to Siding Village. This traditional Nepalese settlement sees few tourists, yet its residents thrive with entrepreneurial spirit. Your hosts at Kokar hail from here, and your accommodations tonight may be run by a family with guesthouses in both locations. Siding Village is also home to daring locals who harvest honey from cliffside bees’ nests. Overnight in Siding.
Trek to Lumle and Drive to Pokhara (910m); Walking Duration: 3 hours; Driving Duration: 2 hours
Accessible Adventure Pvt. Ltd. - After breakfast in Siding, head towards Lumle. Although you’ve left the high mountain trails, the cultural experience continues. Passing through Kalimati and Ghalel, you’ll encounter Brahmin and Gurung communities living side by side. The hike concludes in Lumle, where a prearranged Jeep will take you back to Pokhara in about two hours. Enjoy a delightful dinner in the city before retiring for the night.
Pokhara to Kathmandu; Duration: 6-7 Hours
Accessible Adventure Pvt. Ltd. - Bid farewell to the Annapurna Mountains as you conclude the Mardi Himal Trek. After breakfast in Pokhara, board the tourist bus back to Kathmandu, a journey of six to seven hours. Reflect on the trek’s sights and encounters as the rural countryside passes by. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you may have time for sightseeing at Swayambhunath and Boudhanath stupas, both adorned with Buddha’s eyes and prayer flags. Tonight is your last chance for souvenirs before enjoying a final meal in Nepal’s iconic city.
