Unforgettable Everest Base Camp Trek with Outstanding Support from Nepal Hiking Tours - I had the pleasure of trekking to Everest Base Camp (EBC) with Nepal Hiking Tours, and it was an incredible experience. The team, from management to the guides, did an outstanding job in organizing and managing the entire EBC trek. At times, some of us required medical attention, and in a few cases, evacuation was necessary. Nepal Hiking Tours provided exceptional support in every situation, assisting with insurance and evacuation services when needed. Their team went above and beyond to ensure that each one of us had a safe and enjoyable trekking experience. Gangaji put together an extraordinary group of individuals who are truly dedicated to making the EBC trek memorable. I am deeply grateful to Nepal Hiking Tours for making my EBC trekking adventure one of the most cherished experiences of my life.

Fantastic Trek - We recently completed our EBC Trek with our guide Raj and it was amazing! Even with some bad weather that meant we had to make some changes to our trek itinerary as we were going Raj kept us safe while also keeping us in positive spirits and we still got to achieve making it to base camp! 10/10 experience

Awesome EBC Experience - NHT is an awesome trekking company with excellent, caring guides. Our team had best experience with NHT in every respect I can think of. They arranged all logistics flawlessly, in spite of various natural calamities and made sure our team had the least inconvenience and best outcomes. They handled some of the emergencies gracefully and with best care. Guides followed our team closely to make sure nobody was left behind and provided proper guidance as needed. Thank you so much for a life time experience. Lot of things could have gone wrong, but we finished the trek successfully and am grateful for the experience.
I highly recommend NHT!

EBC WITH NHT 21st Sep to 6th Oct 2024 - We as a group of 3 seniors, went through Nepal Hiking Team (NHT) to do EBC Trek as a private group trek. The services from NHT were excellent.
Even before the Trek started, Mr Ganga Raj Thapa from NHT was very prompt in replying to our various queries over email. When we landed in Kathmandu, Mr Ramakrishna, our Trek guide from NHT, was there to pick us up to take us to our hotel which was Hotel WoodApple.
Mr. Ganga Raj gave us a briefing of our Trek program tour and answered all our queries.
Through out the Trek, Mr Ramakrishna, our guide, was very patient and kept in pace with me as I am a slow trekker. He never used the words 'chalo' or 'jamjam' to hurry up and gave me time to take frequent breaks. During the Trek, we faced hardships due to sudden change in weather and were forced to walk on snow for almost 4 days. He was constantly behind us suggesting ways to deal with the situation. We were able to reach Gorakshep and climbed Kalapathar to enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains including Mount Everest. EBC point was closed for all trekkers at the time due to 5 ft snow.
When one of us wanted to take helicopter ride on his return journey from Gorakshep, our guide Mr Ramakrishna made all the arrangements.
The return journey of three days was very lengthy as we had to cover long distances every day. We purchased crampons at Gorakshep for a better grip while walking on hard snow. Our guide suggested that we walk upto Pangboche on the first day, so that the second day would be comfortable. The views lost during our onward journey were more than compensated during our return journey, thanks to clear skies.
The tea house at Namche bazar was the best, the tea houses at various locations were reasonably good. We had shared toilets at some places, but within the teahouse. Food spread was good at most places. Being vegetarians, we mostly ordered Dal Bhaat and bread.
Our Trek guide Ramakrishna took good care of our accommodation and food throughout our Trek - we only needed to decide what to order in the tea house restaurants. He was also there to lend a hand to help negotiate some difficult stretches during the Trek. He had infinite patience with our slow pace and my husband's photo stops. We are very grateful to him for all his services.
Mr Ganga Raj met us after our return and had a debriefing session with us. We congratulate him on making NHT, a totally customer focused organisation.
We were accommodated in Hotel WoodApple, a 3 star hotel in Kathmandu, for 2 nights before and for 2 nights after the Trek. This hotel was good in terms of location, room quality, cleanliness and service. It was a memorable experience to have a lazy lunch at the rooftop restaurant in this hotel.

Wonderful team and guides for EBC treks. - NHT is a great choice for anyone planning for EBC or any other treks in Nepal. Ganga ji and team (Prakash ji, Druba ji, and other guides) were knowledgeable, friendly, and led our 20+ group very efficiently. They provided ample information and supported everyone during the entire hike. The team was very helpful with arrangements for a few of us in the group who had to turn back from Namche/Louboche due to health issues. The arrangement for helicopter ride and hotels was excellent. They worked on making alternate arrangements for flights from KTM to Lukla after Ramachep Airport closed due to inclement weather and road closures. They got us out from KTM airport. Highly recommend NHT!!

great job ! - NHT folks were incredibly professional and competent. There were so many moments where things could have gone sideways but they kept coming up with solutions that worked. In the end, everything worked out even better than originally planned. Kudos to Prakash for his steady and unwavering leadership. Kudos for Dhruba for his unending optimism and positivity (not to mention his leadership skills!). Kudos to Sabine for his warm personality and his steady leadership on the trail. Kudos to Vishal for his youthful optimism (and his amazing dancing skills lol). What a great experience they created through their hard work, unending optimism and steadfast leadership.

Beautiful EBC I MISS U - 7 of us did a 12 days EBC trek from 22 Sep - 3 Oct. We had 2 guides - Paban and assistant Prem. There were 4 porters assigned to carry our duffel bags from tea house to tea house.
Paban and Prem ensure that everyone is safe throughout. Prem will lead the way with a good and steady pace so that we will not suffer from AMS from walking too fast. I feel very safe walking behind him as he will always call out if there are loose rocks and obstacles I should avoid.
Paban takes on the sweeper role and ensure that no one gets left behind. We met with some obstacles like loose sand and rocks caused by landslides while trekking and both of them ensure we cross those areas safely. As we get higher up the mountain, Paban will check our oxygen level with a pulse oximeter every night to ensure we are fine. Every day, both of them will take our drinks and meal orders and even serve us. My husband was not feeling so well towards the last few days and Paban even carry his day pack for him and hold on to him while coming down the mountain.
Booking the trip with Nepal hiking was fast and Ganga answered most of our queries. Duffel bags to pack our things in, a thick sleeping bag and down jacket was also loan to us.
The only thing I hope would change was that we could fly direct to lukla via Kathmandu instead of waking up at 130am to take a 4-5h van ride to Ramechhap Airport to catch the plane to lukla.
At first this arrangement of flying directly to lukla from Kathmandu was confirm when we made the booking but change when we got there stating that Kathmandu airport is close to domestic flight to lukla. We met with 2 other trekking groups while at EBC that told us they flew in direct to lukla from Kathmandu on the same day that we flew from Ramechhap so I guess Kathmandu wasn’t close after all.
Other than tt, everything else is good. Love my guides and will ask for them again for my future hikes in Nepal. There’s soooo many beautiful treks in Nepal.

Memorable Everest Base Camp Experience - The EBC trek was my first trek that lasted many more days than my previous Himalayan treks, which had never been more than five days long. It would have been twelve days, had I not taken a helicopter on my return journey from the last settlement, Gorakshep, after losing my appetite at Thukla and experiencing irritation in one of my eyes. In any case, the trek was incredibly exciting as I had always wanted to see Mount Everest with my own eyes, and I finally witnessed it from Kala Patthar near Gorakshep. The trek with Nepal Hiking Team (NHT) was simply superb! One of the best aspects of the trek is that you are accommodated in hotels at the end of each day's trek—no tent stays. Plus, there are many food choices at each hotel.
Note that starting from Dingboche, the hotels only have common toilets. This was the case, at least, with the hotels I stayed in. So, make sure your toiletry bag is well-stocked, particularly with hand sanitizer and toilet paper, to stay healthy!
We chose September for the trek, thinking there wouldn't be any rain or snow. However, the rain followed us from Namche, and snow started at Tengboche! In one way, this was great because we got to see beautiful snow-clad mountains and didn't sweat at all. But on the downside, the rain soaked our shoes and socks despite wearing rain gear—waterproof shoes, raincoat, and pants. Wearing them correctly really makes a difference. We tried our best to dry the shoes and socks around the heaters in restaurants, but they helped only to some extent.
Some trekkers became ill on the way to Gorakshep, but fortunately, I didn't experience any headaches, apart from losing my appetite and the minor eye irritation. I believe this was likely because of the stretching and pranayama exercises I did in the mornings before the trek and in the evenings after, and possibly because I hydrated myself with warm water at night and in the early mornings.
From the moment I was picked up at the Kathmandu airport to when I was dropped off at the end of the trek, the service from NHT was excellent. My trekking guide, Mr. Ram Krishna Pauwa, another guide, Mr. Arun, and my sales contact, Mr. Ganga Raj Thapa, went out of their way to make my trekking experience comfortable and enjoyable.
