Flights to Lukla - A representative will meet you at your hotel in Kathmandu between 6 am and 10 am to escort you to the airport for your flight to Lukla. This early morning flight lasts approximately 45 minutes and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan Range.
Upon arrival in Lukla, the trek to Phakding begins. This marks the official start of the trekking journey, ascending to an altitude of over 2,600 meters.
Trek to Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar - The trek continues north along the Dudh-Koshi River to Jorsale, where entry into the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park occurs. A short walk leads to the confluence of the Imja-Drangpa (Imja-Khola) and the Nangpo-Tsangpo (Bhote-Kosi) rivers, crossed via a suspension bridge. A challenging ascent of about 2 hours follows, leading to Namche Bazaar, the main town in the Khumbu region.
Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar
Khumjung - Enjoy the natural beauty of the bazaar. An optional short hike to nearby viewpoints is recommended. Visit Khumjung (3,790m) to see the local school and hospital, or take a short trek to the Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for stunning panoramic mountain views while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. Both options can be arranged if desired.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Tengboche - As the trek progresses around the valley, high above the river, enjoy spectacular views of the Khumbu peaks, including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.
After a steep descent to the river at Phunki Tenga and lunch, a long, steep climb through beautiful forest leads to the evening’s lodge.
Tyangboche is renowned for its impressive monastery, the largest in Khumbu, and accommodations are near this monastery with views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche
Dingboche - After breakfast, the trail leads to Dingboche. The trek descends through a beautiful forest to Deboche, crosses the river, and ascends to Pangboche, a great lunch spot.
On this side of the river, the stunning Ama Dablam is a captivating sight as the trek continues to Dingboche for the night.
Acclimatization in Dingboche
Dingboche - Take time to acclimatize to the altitude. Explore Dingboche independently or book a popular optional hike to Chhukung at an elevation of 4,750m.
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche
Lobuche - The trek continues up a wide valley beneath the impressive peaks of Cholatse and Tawache on the left. A right turn leads to a steeper climb towards the Khumbu Glacier, passing many stone cairns memorializing Sherpas who have died assisting climbers on Mt Everest. The path then gently ascends along the glacier to reach the cluster of houses at Lobuche.
Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep
Everest Base Camp - A 3-hour walk to Gorakshep along the Khumbu Glacier is followed by lunch, then the trek continues to Everest Base Camp. The round trip to base camp takes about 5-6 hours, following the Khumbu glacier, sometimes on moraine and sometimes on the glacier itself.
Upon reaching base camp, respect the space of the expeditions based there, but savor this crowning moment before returning along the trail to Gorakshep.
Trek from Gorakshep - Summit Kalapatthar and Trek back to Pheriche
Kala Patthar - An early morning ascent to Kala Patthar (5,554m) offers one of the finest views in the Everest region, with a stunning sunrise over the mountains and breathtaking views of Everest and the surrounding peaks.
Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar - Rejoin the Imja Khola, following it back through Pangboche to a gradual walk to Phortse.
From Phortse, descend to the bridge over the Dudh Koshi, then ascend steeply to Mongla, followed by a descent and gradual walk back to Namche.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Lukla - From Namche Bazaar, the descent back to Jorsale is surprisingly easy compared to the challenging ascent. Passing through the villages of Phakding and Choplung, the trail leads up to the airstrip at Lukla.
