Tenzing-Hillary Airport - Enjoy a 40-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (9,186ft), one of the most scenic air routes in the world, ending on a hillside surrounded by high mountain peaks. In Lukla, the gateway to your trek, meet your crew members and start packing and organizing with them. Begin your trek with a gradual one-hour descent to Cheplung village, where you can catch a glimpse of Mt. Khumbila (18900ft), a sacred mountain that has never been climbed. Continue descending gradually until you reach Phakding.
Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 - 6 hours
Phakding - Walk through a beautiful pine forest, following the trail north up the Benkar valley. Cross the Dudh Koshi River and pass through Chumoa to Monjo, the entrance to Everest National Park. After crossing a suspension bridge, pass Jorsale village and walk alongside the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. A steep ascent brings you to Namche Bazaar, the heart of the Sherpa village. If the weather permits, you can view Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse an hour before reaching Namche Bazaar.
Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)
Irish Pub - Spend a day acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar, the main center of the Khumbu region, which has government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, and a colorful market. Your guides can take you to explore the charm of Namche Bazaar. Hike to Sagarmatha National Park for a sunrise view and sights of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde, and more. If interested in a day hike, trek to Khumjung village (12401ft), a beautiful Sherpa settlement. Explore Namche Bazaar to observe traditional Sherpa life, visit Khumjung Hillary School, and enjoy the local flora and fauna.
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 10km, 5 - 6 hours
Tengboche Gompa - This part of the trek includes a descent to the Dudh-Koshi River and an ascent through rhododendron forests to Tengboche. While descending, enjoy views of mountain tops like Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kongde. Upon reaching Tengboche, visit the largest monastery in the region, Tengboche Monastery, and soak in views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks.

Dingboche View Point - Descend and trek through forests filled with birch, conifers, and rhododendrons. Enjoy views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The trail dips down to Devuche, crosses the Imja River, and leads to Pangboche. The upper Pangboche trails offer pristine views of the Himalayas and the Pangboche Monastery. Continue towards the Imja Valley, cross the Lobuche River, and climb up to Dingboche. In Dingboche, see fields enclosed by stone walls to protect crops from cold winds and grazing animals.
Dingboche: Acclimatization
Dingboche to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft): 7km, 5-6 hours
Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft): 13km, 6-7 hours
Mount Everest - Follow the trail to Everest Base Camp through the once vast Gorak Shep Lake. Pass the Indian army mountaineers’ memorials. The path can be misleading, so follow your lead Sherpa closely. The walk is strenuous due to thin air at high altitude. Pass through rocky dunes, moraine, and streams before reaching Everest Base Camp. At the base camp, see colorful tents of mountaineers against the gray surroundings (especially in spring). View Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori from the base camp. Return to Gorak Shep for a good night’s rest.
Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) to Pherice (4,288m/14,070ft): 16km, 7-8 hours
Kala Pattar - Prepare for an early morning departure in pre-dawn darkness and cold temperatures (-10 to -14 C), with potential chilly winds. Familiar peaks like Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse tower to the east as Everest begins to reveal itself. At Kala Patthar, enjoy 360-degree views of Mt. Everest. Take pictures, enjoy the mountain panorama, and return to Pheriche for a good night’s rest.
Participants visiting Everest Base Camp will have an early breakfast to start early, as the hike takes longer than the Kala Patthar hike. After returning to Gorak Shep, both groups will have lunch together and then descend to Pheriche for a good night’s rest.
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft): 20km, 6 - 7 hours
Pheriche - Trek down through hillsides covered with rhododendron and juniper trees. Cross the prayer-flag festooned bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and follow the Dudh Koshi gorge, descending rapidly through pine forests. You may encounter colorful pheasants and mountain goats. The path reaches Sansa, offering views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse mountains. Pass winding trails through a forest before reaching Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar to Phakding (3,438m/11,280 ft): 11km, 5 - 6 hours
Phakding - Capture views of open plains, pine forests, and snow-covered peaks in the distance. Walk through Sherpa villages, observing their Buddhist faith and culture, including prayer stones and prayer flags.
Phakding to Lukla (2,860m/9,186ft): 8 km, 3 - 4 hours trek
Lukla Airport Viewpoint - The trail descends steeply, so walk cautiously as your legs battle the rocky terrain. After crossing suspension bridges over the fast-flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries, the trail becomes more level. Upon arrival in Lukla, stretch your legs and reflect on the experiences of the past weeks.
Fly to Kathmandu
Thamel - Catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu after your mountain journey. Upon arrival, rest or do some souvenir shopping. Explore other areas of Kathmandu if you wish, with your guides available to help with souvenir shopping.
