• Nitmiluk National Park - Katherine Gorge, also known as Nitmiluk Gorge, is an awe-inspiring series of 13 linked sandstone gorges within Nitmiluk National Park. Visitors can enjoy a 2-hour river cruise, lunch, a hike to the lookout, or a stroll along the river.

Formed over millions of years by the Katherine River, the gorge showcases towering cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation, making it one of the region’s most iconic natural attractions. The area is celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes. Enjoy a 2-hour cruise along the river while admiring the towering rock faces and spotting wildlife such as freshwater crocodiles and various bird species. Katherine Gorge holds significant cultural importance for the Jawoyn people, the traditional custodians of the land, and is a vital site for their spiritual and cultural practices. Experience the beauty of nature with our one-day excursion to Katherine Hot Springs and Nitmiluk National Park.

The adventure begins at sunrise with a three-hour drive to Nitmiluk National Park, where the main attraction awaits: the 2-Gorge Cruise. This guided experience takes you through the first two and longest gorges, led by knowledgeable local River Guides who provide captivating insights into Indigenous culture, the area’s history, and its flora and fauna. *Please note that a walk across rocks is necessary between the two gorges.

After enjoying lunch at the cafe, take some time to explore on your own. You can hike 900 meters uphill to the lookout for breathtaking panoramic views, stroll along the riverfront, or visit the cultural center.

The next destination is the serene thermal pools of Katherine Hot Springs, where you can relax in this natural marvel before embarking on the three-hour return journey to Darwin.

*During the wet season, when the springs are closed, the tour will visit Edith Falls instead.
