Mercara Gold Estate also has a coffee processing and roasting facility. It is a walking tour and the guide will explain about the various crops and processes. The tour ends at our cafe with a cup of estate fresh coffee.

Additional Information
Mercara Gold Estate is a beautiful 12-acre estate located 8 KM from Madikeri. Whilst coffee was growing here since the 1960s we acquired it in 1998 and began a process of transformation by organising it into a well laid out farm with a wide variety coffee, spices and fruit trees. Our vision was to develop Mercara Gold Estate into a fully-integrated unit, we began processing and roasting our coffees on the estate. We follow all time-tested processes with passion to produce our own range of boutique style coffee and well-balanced blends.
Starting 19th September 2023, we add a new attraction to our estate, The Mercara Gold Estate - World Coffee Museum!
Themed to trace the history of coffee from birth and era to present day, this museum will give visitors the most immersive coffee experience ever!

The Estate is 8km from Madikeri. Take the Madikeri - Mangalore highway and travel for 5 km. Upon arrival at a T-Junction (Katekeri Junction), take the left turn and travel for another 3 km. The Estate will be on the left hand. There are boards at the junction and at the estate to identify the route.

Excellent - Wonderful experience. Chose tour + Vegetarian meal option for 750 Rs, which was well worth it as the meal was absolutely delicious, good portion size, clean and healthy. Our guide Mr Salim was extremely knowledgeable, patient and answered all our questions. Staff were very polite, cheerful and helpful. Coffee museum was interesting. Their pet pooch Rocky was friendly and cute too. This tour was most definitely the highlight of our trip. A must visit.

Nice experience, but ... - Very nice walk around the coffee plantation. Well explained by Ranesh. Tasty lunch and good coffee. Unfortunately, they are not accepting payment cards, so please be prepared to pay by cash only.

Wonderful. - Very pleasant and unique experience. As a guide Manjunath did a great job. At restaurant food and service, both were really great. The whole premise has been maintained with great care. Every little aspect has been taken care ofvery well to make the experience very smooth. Great job.

THE BEST OF COORG - It was amazing visit ....A must .The entire plantation is amazing ..Kids should go to learn something more .The food prepped by them is also good.

A walk to remember - coffee and spices! - The visit was an eye opener for me in certain basic aspects of coffee and spices plantation and harvesting. It was great listening to Mr Manjunath, our guide in this trip. He was quite knowledgeable and was able to answer all our queries. The Museum is one great place to visit, and finally the cup of coffee they serve is an apt end to this tour. And, by the way, the charges per person is Rs 300 only. A must see place!

Had a great time! - Worth the couple of hours spent there. murugesh and Vichitra Behera took the time to explain and show us around!! Didn’t feel like a commercial place at all!! Thank you for the experience!

Great tour - Lovely visit, with the guide having good knowledge of the plants in the estate, got to know good stuff about coffee, charge here is 300 per head as against 200 in other coffee estates, but with the museum and complimentary coffee, the tour was wholesome and comprehensive, exactly what a tourist from north would need.

Purely business model and overpriced - Not worth more than 50 or 100 rupees. They are charging 300 per person and it's purely a business model. You will surely get to see some coffee plantations and spices but I would still say it's totally a money making business

Worst experience from this estate tour - Waste of time money energy,it's a business only , nothing special.. your guide Ramesh was in hurry burry and nervous to explain the fact.. 😔🧐🤔
