Make the most of Meteora hiking with the Visit Meteora team - The Meteora scenery is awesome and I would highly recommend using Visit Meteora to make the most of your visit. We used their transfer coach from Athens and then did two wonderful tours with their guides. Firstly a 7km hike to Ypapantis and Great Meteoron with Kris - loved his helpful and funny nature and all his information on the local plants, animals, history and even suggested hikes we could manage alone. Secondly, a pretty challenging via cordata scramble up Great Saint with Kostas - he ensured our complete safety and took awesome photos of us being daring.

One of the best hikes! - Amazing trail, great guide, Chris, small group of very nice people. We hiked through Meteora's forests & rocks reaching one of the peaks. We also climbed up the stairs to one of the monasteries and had a brief visit. The tour included water bottles and pick-up and drop-off at our hotel.

Fantastic walk - definitely recommend for those interested in seeing Meteora from a unique perspective - My wife and I did this hike with our 11yro son - loved it! Picked up at our accomodation bang on time, picked up 4 other travellers then up into the foothills. About 7.5km hike around the stone towers; we saw a couple of Monasteries, including Ypapantis Monastery - the one built into the wall - along with the statue of Thymios Vlachavas, Monk turned Freedom Fighter (against the Ottomans); neither accessible by road. We visited the Holy Monastery of Great Metereon - very cool to hike down to the Monastery when all of the other visitors were unloading from Coaches. Our guide Dimitrios set a comfortable pace suited for all, with well timed stops to explain the flora and fauna, geological history of the region, and of course the monasteries. He was a fount of knowledge, and really enthusiastic and entertaining in his Guide of the hike. The hike itself had some decent ascents (and descents), but definitely worth it for the spectacular views and a different perspective of the area.

Great day hike in Meteora! - We really enjoyed our Meteora hiking tour with Chris! We were picked up at 8:30am at our hotel and then were brought to the starting point in a minibus with the rest of the group. Group was small and mixed ages / nationalities. We hiked through the forest and up the rocks - note that (naturally) this hike goes up and down a lot with some steep bits and pieces. There was always a path, no climbing required and everyone in our group was able to keep up (Chris also adjusted the pace to make sure that was the case), but this is a serious hike. There was quite some shade due to the trees, but on top of the rocks there would not be any shade. We visited 1 monastery (the biggest one) and had sufficient time to walk around and Chris shared tonnes of information on the area, the rocks & geology, activities to do in the area, monasteries and put in effort to catch up with everyone individually. Definitely recommend!!

An amazing time in Kalambaka & Meteora with Visit Meteora Travel! - We did two hiking tours with Visit Meteora Travel and both were outstanding! Both our guides, Kris & Evan, were enthusiastic, friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The 5-hour hiking tour took us through the Meteora rocks, and atop a couple of them, and we then visited one of the monasteries. The second 4-hour tour took us on a hike in another part of the National Park where we visit and viewed caves and stopped to watch the sunset at the end of the hike. Both were absolutely brilliant trips and highly recommended!

Fun hike, just remember to use a good pair of hiking shoes for better grip! - The hike was absolutely fantastic, with stunning views throughout. The service was top-notch, including convenient pick-up and drop-off at our hotel. A special shoutout to Chris, our hiking tour guide - his bubbly and chatty personality made the experience much more enjoyable and light-hearted. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable across a wide range of topics and shared fascinating stories from his experiences, which added a fun and engaging dimension to the hike. He also took excellent care of everyone, providing clear guidance and support throughout the journey. Highly recommended!

Great experience! - The experience was great. Chris was just very good in all aspect. Punctual, very knowledgeable in everything related to the region, the history, the geology... The hike was not difficult. However, the part after the visit of the monaster was a little bit more challenging. Nothing crazy though. Overall a very good experience.

Highly recommend! - Chris was an excellent, personable and knowledgeable guide! We had a great time learning about the history of the area and with some extra knowledge about the local flora and fauna. The views were amazing, and it was nice to experience what Meteora has to offer away from the crowds. Going inside the monastery is optional, but it is a must! And it was fun ending the hike on the ancient path that lead to the monastery. The hike was a little longer (about 7km) but very doable, the steepest part was a short stint at the beginning (and of course the stair case to enter the monastery!). Highly recommend!

Guide needs some suggestions from other guide to make hike more enjoyable. - We enjoyed the hike and the information given but what was unfortunate was there was a Greek couple on the hike and they walked next to our tour guide and spoke in Greek most of the time. When we wanted to ask a question it was hard to interrupt… and I think if the guide would learn about the floral and fauna then he could answer questions and give some information about our surroundings. Some fellow hikers also asked about the trees and flowers etc. The other guide also on our trip with the other group may be able to offer his experience and share information that he has been asked so he could be prepared next time.
