Arrival in Kashgar: A Gateway to the Silk Road

I wandered through the maze of stalls, marveling at the array of goods on offer, from intricate jewelry to handcrafted musical instruments. The Idigar Mosque, the largest in China, stood as a testament to the city’s Islamic heritage, and I was fortunate to witness a cultural show in the Old Town, where the local Uighur community shared their traditions with pride.

The journey to Taxkorgan took us through breathtaking landscapes, with the Pamirs Plateau providing a dramatic backdrop. The Stone Fortress, with its ancient walls and panoramic views, offered a glimpse into the region’s storied past.
