Flight from Istanbul to Adiyaman - Mt Nemrut

Nemrut Dagi National Park - At 06:30, guests will be picked up from their hotel and transferred to Istanbul airport. The flight departs at 09:00 from Istanbul to Adıyaman Mt Nemrut, arriving at Adıyaman airport at 10:35. Upon arrival, guests will be met at the airport. The Mount Nemrut tour begins at 12:00, with lunch at a local restaurant en route.
The tour will commence with visits to Blackbird Tumulus, Severan Bridge, New Castle, and Arsemia. Following this, the group will proceed to Mount Nemrut to view the renowned statues. The East and West Terraces offer the opportunity to witness one of the world’s most stunning sunsets.
After exploring Nemrut, guests can take photos in the nearby valleys before returning to the hotel. Detailed information about the sites is provided below.

Karakus Tumulusu - The guide will provide all necessary details about the Karakuş Tumulus.

The Karakuş Tumulus is a burial monument for Queen Isias and Princesses Antiochis and Aka I of Commagene, constructed by Mithridates II of Commagene between 30–20 BCE, near the modern village of Çukurtaş in Kâhta District, Adıyaman Province, Turkey. “Karakuş” translates to “black bird,” named for the column topped by an eagle. It is situated 12 kilometers from Kâhta, Turkey. The tumulus is encircled by groups of three Doric columns, each approximately 9 meters tall, topped with steles, reliefs, and statues of a bull, lion, and eagle. An inscription indicates the presence of a royal tomb that housed three women.

Cendere Bridge - The guide will provide all necessary details about the Severan Bridge, and the group will spend about 2 hours here.

The Severan Bridge (Turkish: Cendere Köprüsü) is a late Roman bridge located near the ancient city of Arsameia (now Eskikale), 55 km northeast of Adıyaman in southeastern Turkey. It spans the Cendere Çayı (Chabinas Creek), a tributary of Kâhta Creek, on provincial road 02-03 from Kâhta to Sincik in Adıyaman Province. This bridge was documented and illustrated in 1883 by archaeologists Osman Hamdi Bey and Osgan Efendi.

Arsemia Antik Kenti - The guide will provide all necessary details about Arsemia, and the group will spend about 1 hour here.

Visit Arsemia, once the summer residence of the Commagene kings, located sixty kilometers from Adiyaman. At the base of this ancient city, there is a magnificent relief depicting Heracles (or possibly Artagnes, a Persian deity identified with Heracles by the Greeks) shaking hands with King Mithridates of Commagene from around 50 BC. Nearby is the largest Greek inscription in Anatolia.

Mount Nemrut - Visit Nemrut or Nemrud, a 2,134-meter-high mountain in southeastern Turkey, notable for its summit adorned with large statues surrounding what is believed to be a royal tomb from the 1st century BC. It is one of the highest peaks in the eastern Taurus Mountains.
The mountain is located 40 km north of Kahta, near Adıyaman. In 62 BCE, King Antiochus I Theos of Commagene constructed a tomb-sanctuary on the mountain top, flanked by enormous statues 8–9 meters high of himself, two lions, two eagles, and various Greek, Armenian, and Iranian gods, such as Heracles-Artagnes-Ares, Zeus-Oromasdes, and Apollo-Mithras-Helios-Hermes. These statues were originally seated, with each god’s name inscribed on them. The heads of the statues have been removed from their bodies and are now scattered across the site.

At the end of the tour, guests will be transferred to their hotel in Kahta for an overnight stay.

Return to Istanbul or Kayseri Kapadokya

Mount Nemrut - At 04:00 am, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Kahta and driven to Mt Nemrut for a sunrise tour. After the tour, they will be transferred back to their hotel for rest and breakfast. At 08:00, they will be transferred to Adıyaman airport for an 11:00 flight to Istanbul, arriving at 13:30. Upon arrival, guests will be transferred from the airport to their hotel in Istanbul, concluding the tour.
