An inscription indicates the presence of a royal tom that housed three women.

It is one of the highest peaks in the east of the Taurus Mountains. The mountain lies 40 km north of Kahta, near Adıyaman. In 62 BCE, King Antiochus I Theos of Commagene built on the mountain top a tomb-sanctuary flanked by huge statues 8–9-metre high of himself, two lions, two eagles and various Greek, Armenian, and Iranian gods, such as Heracles-Artagnes-Ares, Zeus-Oromasdes, and Apollo-Mithras-Helios-Hermes.These statues were once seated, with names of each god inscribed on them.
