A magnificent mountain, I want to go there again!!! - I climbed the best mountain of my life, Mount Elgon in Uganda. Mount Elgon is 50km wide from east to west, 80km long from north to south, and has an area of 4,000㎢ (including Mount Elgon on the Kenyan side), making it the largest extinct volcano in the world. Its highest peak, Wagagai Peak, is the 12th highest mountain in Africa. The reason I chose to climb this place in Africa is because, when I saw pictures on the internet of mountains around 5,000m high, such as Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya, and Mount Stanley, it was such a beautiful mountain in terms of cost-effectiveness, weather, and grandeur. When I climb to the top of a small mountain and look out, it feels like I'm seeing a new world, but Mount Elgon, once the highest peak in Africa, was so different. Hippohead Peak, Round Altar Peak, Table Peak, and countless other rocky mountains that you can't see anywhere else, deep valleys that are wide open like twins with clear water flowing, magnificent ridges that seem close but far away, and grasslands and nameless flowers spread out widely below, it seems like a place where gods live. It is truly a mountain that opens your heart. It seems like a great land for people to live in, with the primitive jungle, water, and grasslands, but I heard from the guide that the Bagisu, Sabiny, and other indigenous people moved to other places. They must have taken the livestock they raised with them, so I couldn't see them, which was a shame, but the green primitive grasslands are spread out beautifully. So if the herbivorous livestock that used to live there had been restored, it would have been even more pleasing to my eyes. The Bagisu tribe called Mt. Elgon 'breast mountain'. It is too beautiful to express in words, and I, who live in a civilized world, want to live here instead of going down. I took a lot of pictures and videos because it was a shame to see such a beautiful mountain alone. However, I would like to suggest some improvements to attract more visitors. First, in order to improve accessibility to the mountain, the road to the entrance of the trail needs to be paved and more trekking courses need to be developed. This is because visitors who come with vehicles or who also visit Sipi Falls want to descend from the starting point unless there are special circumstances. Second, the mud paths that become a mess when it rains while hiking should be closed because they pose a high risk of accidents and damage to nature. Nevertheless, I would like to recommend this place to those who love mountains, so please go even if it is difficult to access.

Best National Park of Uganda - I did this trip with 3 student friends of mine. Although we have never done anything like this, we easily reached the peak as planned. The landscapes, the views, and the vegetation were incredible. The crew (consisting of 2 rangers, 1 guid from Discover Sipi, 4 porters and 1 cook) was streamlined and very professional. The guides explained a lot about the mountains and culture of the region. Additionally they were very interested in our lives so we had many good conversations. Although that the lodges were quite rudimentary ( we slept in tents and sleeping backs), the stunning views sitting from the campfire made it worth it. At last, after the four day hike, we visited the sipi falls and did a coffee tour. Simon, a guide from Discover Sipi, helped us to do everything we wanted.

One step at a time... - This was a well-organized 'expedition' for a group of five friends up the new Bushenyi Trail. William was easy to communicate with in advance on the particulars, and the guides, rangers, and porters did a good job motivating us and getting us up and down the mountain comfortably and safely. We all summitted this very pictaresque trail. Try it out!

Wonderful descovering of Sipi and Mt Elgon with William - Our hotel in Sipi recommanded us William as a guide to discover the Sipi falls and to do the trek to Mt Elgon. He is a great guide and I would recommand him to anyone : he is interresting, takes great pictures (he studied photography) and organise everything (from the transport to all the organisation of the treck) perfectly ! He is also very attentif to his customers and adapt the rythme of the walk to them. The 2 hikes are really worth going to Sipi! Landskape was incredible ! Unfortunately, my friend get sick during the hike so we had to return earlier, William did everything he could so that we could evacuate asap and organised the transport to the next city!

Elgon 4 day hike - budagiri to sipi - We did a 4 days mt elgon hike with William and it was a wonderful experience. William arranged everything ahead of the activity, was very responsive and gave us great tips in order to be best prepared for the hike. The hike itself is quite challenging but the views are very rewarding and the change of vegetation quite impressive. The chef who accompanies the trip took best care of us and the park rangers were extremely friendly and happy to share their knowledge about the park's flora and fauna. We will definitely recommend the hike to friends and family
