I had the best time from the beginning to the end of the tour. Mr. Shamin was the best driver and tour guide and I felt so safe. He stopped at all the attractions and made sure I was happy with every visit and accommodated every need. The safari was the highlight of my tour and I couldn’t be happier.

Unforgettable Day of Adventure - I would highly recommend Aaliya Tours for anyone wanting to do a day trip out of Kandy! We went on the Minneriya, Sigiriya, and Dambulla day tour in March 2025, with Irfan as our guide. Irfan went above and beyond our expectations for the tour, adding various other interesting stops on our way including a Hindu temple in Matale (Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil) and a medicinal plant garden. He also stopped to get us food at several locations, including tasty local snacks and fresh mango. Of the three main locations, our first stop was Dambulla cave temple. This was an incredible site primarily containing a massive amount of statues and murals depicting Gautama Buddha and his life, as well as a few other figures including a handful of Hindu deities. This site is over two thousand years old and still functions as an important site for Buddhists, many of whom we saw paying their respects. Our next stop was Sigiriya. The entire complex was astoundingly beautiful, and the pictures you see online truly cannot capture how it feels being there in person. The grounds around the actual rock plateau are very beautiful in their own right, featuring the remnants of gardens and pools built in a very impressive geometric fashion, and were very nice to walk around. The view of the rock from this area is incredible, and the way it rises up out of the trees is quite surreal. The hike to the top is very nice itself, and there are more ruins and several spots with wonderful views of the surrounding area that can be seen on the way up, as well as the enormous and impressive lion paws carved into the stone. At the summit, the foundations of the palace remain, along with some more pools. It was very nice to walk around, and also afforded amazing views of the entire region and surrounding mountains extending very far. After Sigiriya we made our way to Hurulu Eco Park, as Aaliya Tours had informed us in advance that we would not be able to see the elephants as Minneriya due to flooding. This had no negative impact on our experience, and the tour of the eco park was amazing, where we saw much Sri Lankan wildlife and beautiful scenery. Overall, this was a truly unforgettable adventure, and a highlight of our time in the Kandy region. Irfan is a wonderful guide, who is very friendly to talk with and extremely knowledgeable about all of the locations and sights along the way, as well as providing a smooth and comfortable driving experience for his passengers. Amazing tour - The trip was absolutely fantastic. Irfan was our tour guide and he was brilliant. We did everything on the tour and everything ran smoothly and on time. Was the best trip of my time in Sri Lanka.

Great wildlife experience in Sri Lanka 😍 - We had an amazing experience with this tour! Our group of seven arrived in Kandy by train, and we were warmly welcomed at the railway station. This was our first time seeing elephants, and we were beyond excited! The entire trip was well organized, and we truly enjoyed every moment. A special thanks to our guide, Ilham, who made the day even more memorable with his knowledge and friendly attitude. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great wildlife experience in Sri Lanka!

Great day, highly recommend 👌 - We cannot recommend this tour enough :) Our guide Shamin was excellent from start to finish ...we were picked up from our hotel at 7 am and enjoyed a day packed full of activities. Shamin was very knowledgeable and provided with us with brilliant information before we entered the cave temple at Dambulla. He also took us to the golden temple at Dambullah. Shamin was efficient and friendly and ensured all of our needs were catered for, including a delicious authentic lunch at a local restaurant af Sigiriya after we climbed Sigiruya Rock. The final activity was brilliant and Shamin ensured our driver was waiting for us when we arrived. All in all, a day to remember :)

Amazing experience from Kandy all the way up to Minneriya with our guide Irfan - This experience was amazing ! Irfan guided us and showed us all the places, picked up some fresh fruits and breakfast for us as well ! He managed to make this experience unique despite some heavy rain on the way. We learned a lot thanks to his knowledge and all his stories. Discovering the Hindu and Boudhism culture was very interesting. The lion rock at Sigiriya offers a splendid vue. We ended the day with a safari a Minneriya park and got to see many elephants. We will recommend this experience and thank you again Irfan !

Courteous, organized, timely, adventurous - We had a great experience with Aaliya tours. We visited Dambulla temple, sigiriya rock, and an elephant safari. Our driver was very kind and being a fellow Sri Lankan myself I was able to communicate in both Tamil and English with him whilst my husband being Canadian was able to freely keep conversation. He arranged for an excellent safari experience which we saw many elephants and various species of birds. To top it all off, especially after an extremely long day our driver offered to wait till we were done dinner before dropping us home which was very appreciated.

An amazing tour day - Everything from the beginning was perfect. Our driver Irfan was puntual to pick up us in the hotel. We visit Dambulla, Sigiriya and the Safari and it was everything great. We saw a lot of elephants and other animals, it was amazing. If I had to choose again I would do it with them. Thank you so much!!!

Above and Beyond! - Aaliyah tours was wonderfully flexible when I hurt myself and could no longer participate in part of the tour. Mr. Shamin was our guide and he was amazing! Helped us try local fruit straight from the tree, showed us local landmarks on the way, friendly. He even made sure we had dinner when getting back to Kandy. Best roti ever! Highly recommend this company and Mr.Shamin. We enjoyed him so much, he is taking us on another tour tomorrow!!
