Artisan tour of Kanazawa - Nozomi was a friendly and very knowledgeable guide who spoke excellent English. The artisans we visited were masters of their trade and demonstrated their finely honed skills. And there was no pressure selling!

A full day of discovery in Kanazawa. - Whilst the weather wasn't kind to us with continual drizzle throughout the day, the whole day was nothing short of fabulous. Our guide Jorge was knowledgeable, personable, flexible, responsive to our needs and requests and had a good sense of humour. He balanced the history with basic info and his understanding of our interests so very well. It was a long day with plenty of walking and a good variety of attractions and highlights. We finished the day tired but very satisfied and certainly felt like the experience was value for money. Would highly recommend.

Great experience with Nozomi and artisanal visits - Our guide Nozima was fantastic. Knowledgable, engaging, excellent English. We visited two artisanal homes - both hugely interesting and informative. The time, and lovely lunch, also allowed for some detailed questions, and answers on Japanese culture, history and way of life. Altogether a very enjoyable day which is highly recommended. Nozomi is a star!

Perfect for History and Garden lovers - We had the greatest time walking around Kanazawa with Jorge. We covered much of the city on foot. He told us about the history of Kanazawa, its deep roots in craftsmanship and artisanal wares. We visited many gardens, both strolling and viewing gardens. I enjoyed all the tidbits of history behind the places we visited. Jorge took us to several places he felt we would enjoy such as the market and even a high end knife shop! He knew many people in Kanazawa well, telling us bits and pieces of every shop owner or restaurant owner we met. All in all it was a highly enjoyable trip and it would be worth coming back.

Nozomi- the crown jewel of Kanazawa - Nozomi was a treat to spend time with all day! Our travel agency recommended her and we had a fantastic customized experience with her. Her insight into Kanazawa, the artisans, history and food scene were extraordinary making the whole tour unforgettable.

An Excellent Tour in Kanazawa - Kumiko our guide picked us up at our Japanese hotel and over a coffee explained the itinerary that she had worked out for us taking into account our elderly status. Kumiko was an excellent guide and looked after us very well all the time. The Japanese restaurant she took us to was exactly what we wanted to see and the food was good. Kumiko explained the various sites we visited in depth and we found it all very interesting. Kumiko was a delightful guide through the tour and what put the icing on the cake was the fact she went over and above what was required by returning to our hotel in the evening and leaving us with detailed instructions on how to successfully transfer trains in Nagoya on our way to Kyota. This was an extremely useful document that she produced and made the journey painless, as I confess I was concerned that the transfer would be stressful given the limited timescale between trains but it all went very smoothly. Insightful and fun tour of Kanazawa artisans - We had a really great time w/ Sachiko in Kanazawa. We did the full day artisan tour and were just expecting to go to see the two masters but Sachiko also showed us around the geisha and samurai quarters before our first visit, which was really nice. We learned a lot just walking around with her. We visited an umbrella master and a kimono master who hand paints silk . Both were really enjoyable experiences--we learned a lot and saw how much effort and skill goes into these products. Everything they make is so beautiful and amazing. You develop a high appreciation when you see how much dedication these crafts require. Sachiko had relationships with the masters and facilitated a really nice time. She speaks English well and translated clearly. She also took great pictures throughout and sent them to us afterward--we got to just enjoy everything and still have great memories to look back on.. Overall, we spent the whole day with Sachiko and found her to be really pleasant and easy to be around. It was a lot of fun to just talk to her about her life in Japan and get to know her better.
