Day 1: Journey to Lake Mburo National Park – Equator Visit and Evening Safari
Lake Mburo National Park - The adventure starts with a drive from Kampala or Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park, taking approximately 4-5 hours. En route, there will be a stop at the Uganda Equator, a renowned landmark perfect for photos, where visitors can observe a water demonstration illustrating how water behaves differently on each side of the equator, and explore small shops offering local crafts. After this stop, the journey continues to the park. Upon arrival, guests will check in at their lodge and enjoy a brief rest. In the late afternoon, an evening game drive awaits, offering a safari vehicle ride through the park to spot animals such as zebras, impalas, buffaloes, warthogs, elands, and possibly a leopard or hyena. The evening is ideal for wildlife viewing as animals become more active, and the sunset provides a stunning backdrop across the park.
Uganda Equator - The Uganda Equator is an intriguing geographical landmark with both scientific and cultural importance. Situated in central Uganda, it marks the imaginary line where the Earth’s equator crosses the country. Visiting the Uganda Equator provides a unique opportunity to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at once. Visitors can take memorable photos and engage in interactive demonstrations that highlight the equator’s effects, such as water swirling in different directions on either side. Cycling or Walking Safari in Lake Mburo National Park, Then Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Lake Mburo National Park - Following an early breakfast, guests can explore the park in a more active and thrilling manner by opting for either a cycling safari or a guided nature walk. Choosing the cycling safari means riding a bicycle along designated tracks within the park, accompanied by a trained park ranger. This activity allows for a quiet ride near animals like giraffes, zebras, impalas, and other antelopes, while enjoying the serene sights and sounds of the wilderness. Alternatively, the guided nature walk is conducted on foot with a ranger who will guide participants through the park, sharing knowledge about the plants, animals, animal tracks, and birds encountered along the way. After the morning adventure, guests will return to the lodge for lunch before commencing the drive back to Entebbe or Kampala.
