Kampala: cook like a local - Very nice experience if you’re doing Kampala! Going together to owino market to buy the ingredients, then was invited to Fatumah and her familie, to cook the meal and ofcourse eat it together! It was a very nice day with very good food, and I was honoured to have Fatumah and her family to make it happen!!

A Delicious Day! - Shared a wonderful day of cooking Ugandan food with two lovely hosts. With a lot of helpful suggestions I eventually learned how to peel matooke correctly and watched how to steam it in matooke leaves! Rosette made a delicious butternut soup. The goat stew was really good as was the groundnut sauce for the matooke. A mango salad and mashed Irish potatoes completed the meal. The cooking and the eating together was filled with lots of talk, laughter and sharing of culture.

Lovely visit - It was such a warm-hearted visit at Hannah, Rosette and Doreen 🤗 An amazing experience that I don’t want to miss and all of them were so open-minded. We had some great conversations about our different cultures, food, and everything that came to our mind. I really recommend meeting them you will enjoy it 🥰😍🙏🏼

Bait and switch - Disappointed - I purchased a the cooking tour via Trip Advisor. The activity clearly stated it was for 6h and would include lunch and dinner. After purchase, the guide then texted me that the ingredients were not included and my portion of the ingredients costs would an additional 100,000 ugx ($27 USD). This was not stated anywhere on the activity description. Out of caution, I then double checked the details and was told that the activity would only be "3-4 hours latest" and now would only include lunch. Good thing I took the initiative to confirm the details before hand. If not, it would have been really awkward. The guide did not offer a refund. I had to go through Trip Advisor. Twice the price and half the service - definitely a bait and switch!
