This impressive bronze statue stands at 13.5 meters tall and was constructed over 750 years ago during the Kamakura period. Initially adorned with gold leaf, the statue has endured earthquakes and typhoons that destroyed its original hall, resulting in a beautiful copper patina over time. This national treasure of Japan is the highlight of Kotoku-in Temple and a symbol of Kamakura.
- Enoshima - Enoshima is a picturesque island located off the mainland. Visitors will have an hour of free time to explore Nakamise-dori, a vibrant street leading to Enoshima Benzaiten Shrine. The shrine is believed to be the abode of three sister goddesses associated with the sea, water, good fortune, finance, and the arts.
