Since 1992, we have been Kalbarri’s first and longest-standing organization offering whale watching tours. Kalbarri is seasonally graced with the presence of the noble Humpback Whale and occasionally the Southern Right Whale. They begin their journey past Kalbarri from the food-abundant southern ocean to their breeding habitat in the warm northern seas every June.

In August, the whales can be observed moving back southwards, heading to chillier seas for growth and maturity. Along the continental shelf, they follow the coastline, travelling through the warm Indian Ocean.

These magnificent beings entertain, play and relax in the untouched waters of Gantheaume Bay, as they migrate along the West Australian coastline. Each whale watching venture presents a chance to observe these gentle behemoths up close, offering a unique spectacle right at Kalbarri’s doorstep.
