Begin the day with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Yala at 5:00 AM, setting off on a peaceful journey to the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary, a hidden treasure in Sri Lanka for birdwatching enthusiasts. Arriving by 6:00 AM, you’ll enter a serene haven where over 150 bird species, including both migratory and endemic, flourish in their natural environment.

With binoculars provided, you can closely observe the vibrant birdlife as you explore the wetlands, lagoons, and mangroves that comprise this sanctuary. Relish the tranquil surroundings and the gentle morning light that accentuates the landscape’s beauty.

Following an unforgettable birdwatching experience, refreshments will be provided to help you relax and reflect on the morning’s sightings. The tour concludes around 9:00 AM, with a comfortable return drive to your hotel in Yala.

The transport time from Yala to Kalametiya and back to Yala is approximately 2 hours.
