Meteora 2 Day trip - Excellent experience, the hotel was great, the views were great. I highly recommend the guided hike, our guide, Christoph was friendly, informative and fun. The hike isn't too challenging but not overly simple either and the views and atmosphere are well worth it.

A little thing can be improved - Everything is good except after you finish your activities in the second day you have to wait 3 hours before they transfer you back to Athen

Great tour - Spectacular tour with great guides. Highly recommend the hiking option; its a relatively easy 7km hike that has some of the most beautiful viewpoints I've seen. A magical region with deep history, and a charming town in the shadows of the rocks.

Unforgettable 2-Day Meteora Experience - This 2-day tour was the highlight of our trip to Greece! The combination of the sunset tour and the hiking experience made it truly unique. Watching the sunset over the Meteora rocks was absolutely magical, while the hike the next day offered a completely different perspective—peaceful, scenic, and away from the crowds. Everything was perfectly organized, from the transfers to the small-group atmosphere. Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Staying overnight allowed us to experience Meteora at a relaxed pace, which I highly recommend. If you’re thinking about visiting Meteora, this 2-day tour is definitely the best way to do it!

First day was a van tour and second day was hiking. 10/10 both days - Chris and Jim were awesome. Bother were great conversation and really knew their stuff. Both were able to connect with people from any region. 10/10 would recommend.

100% worth it! - This was an amazing experience and is definitely worth booking. Our guide, Demetrius, was knowledgeable and friendly. He helped us take great photos and was open and patient with any questions we had. We had a great time!

Great place to visit, bad planning by provider - I found Meteora to be a wonderful place to visit (regardless of provider or trip length). I did the 2 day tour, which I find is a better option than cramming everything into one day. So definitely recommend it. Unfortunately our provider, Visit Meteora, tries to bundle together the 2-day people with the 1-day people causing a lot of friction: they constantly hurry you up when they need it, but waste your time when it's convenient to them. In particular: the first day there was no time for lunch (had to eat some bread on the van while on the actual tour). The second day was even worse: they make you wake up at 7 and hurry you into the morning activity, but once this is over they leave you waiting for 3 hours *in the middle of the day* while the 1-day people finish their tour. This is too long to just have lunch and too little to do lunch and something else. Really bad planning. To make matters worse, we had to wait at a bus stop in the middle of nowhere for quite a bit and when we finally got into the bus we had to cram into the worst seats at the back for 6 hours (no recline and 5 people in a row) because it was the only seats left. You pay more but you get worse treatment. I can't imagine how it is in summer if this is how they do it in low season.

Never again - Very poor experience overall. The guides themselves were great but the organization around the tours was awful. Not only did the two tours (sunset + monastery visits) end up overlapping by around 70%, but the planning, instructions and transport were completely disorganized. At departure there were multiple different busses but none of them labeled with the company identified in the instructions and there were no tickets so we had to ask every bus driver if we were on the list. After the ride from Athens to Meteora, the bus was split between multiple groups to dispatch to the hotels but their list were wrong and we ended up being sent to the wrong hotel 2 kms away and we had to talk to multiple hotels for one to finally call the trip organizers and call the transport back to bring us to the right hotel. This took almost 2 hours, making us waste our first 4h of free time. After all these issues, the first tour was uneventful but they could not give us precise times or locations for the pickups even though they kept telling us we needed to be on time. There supposedly was an option to choose between a hike or the bus tour for the second day, there was absolutely no information on the hike itself (Duration, difficulty, starting point, etc.) or instructions on how to register for either activity. On the second tour, once the driver came we ended up being rushed by the staff even though we were 5 minutes early and that was even though we were not on the driver's list making us doubt if we were even with the right organizer. After the second tour, we had to go to the office just to make sure where the pickup for the return trip was since there were no instructions and just basically had to wait 5 hours in a restaurant for the return bus since everything else was closed. All that considered, the straw that broke the camel's back was that, for the return trip, 5 of us were shoved in the almost full bus of a 1-day trip group instead of returning with our group, which meant we had to wait 45 minutes for them to take a break before leaving, could not choose our seats and had to split or bargain with other guest to sit together in a bus that was way worse than the one we came in. For almost 600$ this kind of service is unacceptable...

It is better to take the one day tour or go by yourself - I read on the suggestions that a two day tour was the best, but it is not! The visit to the monasteries is scheduled for the second day BUT only in the morning. So you finish at 13 hrs and the rest of the day, the agency “Visit Meteora” tell us that was “free time” in a small town just wasting your time. This is to wait for the One day tour until they finish at 17:15…. So you arrive very late in Athens around 22:30……. Some of our group, ask the manager of Visit Meteora for the chance to come back to Athens earlier but he absolutely said it was not “profitable” for the company…..

Bad transport and no real tour - If you are someone looking for a spiritual experience and history of Christianity in Greece, Meteora is incredible, but this tour is terrible. This is primarily a bus ticket with extremely thin/little tour content. On a two day tour, the guide almost never entered the monasteries and the real content of the Orthodox faith was not presented. Orthodoxy was treated like a caricature. The guide did not seem to understand the Orthodox Christian faith and said many things which are theologically wrong. The first of our tour guides also stuck his hand behind the curtain into the sanctuary of an Orthodox monastery, which is an extremely serious matter in our faith. The bus ride itself was over packed, with very little leg room on a very long bus ride. The bus stops in the morning at 10am at cafe that doesn't serve real Greek food (the food was also basically inedible), and then we finally were dropped off at our hotel at 1:20pm. The rooms were not ready, and the hotel had no food. We had to race into town to try to find food, and then were reprimanded for trying to get food. As we explored the monasteries, we saw many other groups with guides who entered the monasteries and who were explaining the faith. For our group, nothing was really explained. We specifically also selected the two day tour because we wanted additional information. However, instead we found the many of the sites from the first day were repeated and we were stuck with a different group that hadn't already been to these same places. Meteora is an incredibly important place in the Orthodox Christian faith and the history of Greece. Please do yourself a favor and find a tour that respects the Orthodox Christian faith. This is not it.
