A former tea farmer with six years of experience in Kyoto will introduce you to the fascinating world of matcha. You’ll have the opportunity to sample 10 different types of matcha from five renowned tea-producing regions (Kyoto, Shizuoka, Aichi, Fukuoka, Kagoshima). After tasting, select your favorite matcha and prepare it yourself.

① Meet at the designated location.
② Enjoy a welcome drink while learning about the history and production of matcha.
③ Compare various matcha types. You’ll be served 8 kinds of matcha, including 6 ceremonial grades and 2 that are often mislabeled as matcha. Observe the color, then taste the tea to appreciate its color, aroma, and flavor.
④ Matcha preparation experience. Choose your preferred matcha from the tasting session and make it yourself. Finally, prepare Ousucha (matcha) using a bamboo whisk. You’ll leave with the skills to make matcha at home.
⑤ Savor a matcha latte and matcha sweets made with our special blend that pairs perfectly with milk and sugar.
⑥ Farewell.

Let’s taste and compare matcha from 5 representative production areas in Japan. This is an experience unique to Tokyo, where all things Japanese come together.

Learn about the definition of matcha and cultivation methods and history. The main instructor has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science and has a particularly deep knowledge of soil science. He is a former tea farmer who was involved in everything from tea cultivation to processing in Kyoto. The assistant has a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and is a practicing pharmacist.

You can enjoy 10 kinds of matcha from 5 tea production areas in small portions at once. With a wide variety of tea flavors and aromas, you are sure to find your favorite.
