Highlights
  • Keisen-machi - This place is a gateway to the Chikuho area, which is primarily inhabited by locals and sees very few tourists. It is just a 30-minute train ride from Hakata Station, the central hub of Fukuoka City. This tour starts in a small town with a population of about 12,000 that is generally unknown to the public.
  • Akizuki - Akizuki, the former capital of Fukuoka during the samurai era, will be our first destination. We’ll savor a leisurely lunch, explore beautifully preserved samurai residences, and wander through the quaint village. Let’s embark on a journey back in time to the samurai era!
  • Koishiwaragawa Dam - Between Akizuki and next place, we will have bit break time in this big reservoir at middle of mountain.
  • Toho-mura - Koishiwara of the Toho mura (Toho Village), a historic pottery town dating back to the samurai era, is famous for its over 50 kilns. We’ll start at the pottery museum, a treasure trove of ceramics from all these kilns. If you find a piece that catches your eye, we can visit the kiln where it was crafted. Or If you are interested in a pottery experience, I can arrange a 30-minute pottery class for you. A local potter will then spend 2-3 months completing the piece you create, and it will be shipped to your overseas address. Please note that shipping costs will be charged separately at the time of shipment, and you may choose whether or not to have your piece shipped after the experience.
Hidden away is the enigmatic Gyojado shrine. Despite its limited coverage in guidebooks, this lesser-known spot has been a backdrop for films. Some visitors have sensed a spiritual aura here, leading some to call it the “ninja shrine” because of its mysterious vibe.
  • Hikosan Shrine - Hiko-san is a historic temple town, perfect for those seeking a medieval experience. Unlike the crowded Kumano Kodo, Hiko-san offers peace and quiet. We can reach the shrine by cable car or climb the 400 steps. For a deeper immersion, let’s stay at a temple lodge.

And this place maybe weekend and public holiday only.

  • Kubibuchi Falls - On our way back from our mountainous journey, we’ll encounter a truly spiritual waterfall located within the grounds of a shrine. This hidden gem is considered a mystical power spot, known to only a few locals. Weather permitting, we’ll make a detour to visit this special place.
  • k’s farm - (Optional) Do you want to fresh strawberry ice-cream or shake? Here operated by strawberry farm shop located at in front of strawberry fields, inside of rice fields.
  • Akaneso - Optional Dinner, at this Michelin star restaurant. Taste oldest Fukuoka Branded Wagyu (Japanese Beef) it called “Chikuho-Beef”, menu option is 3, steak/Shabu Shabu/Sukiyaki.
