- Miyajidake Shrine - Miyajidake Shrine is guarded by one of the largest Shimenawa, or sacred ropes, in all of Japan. In spring, the expansive grounds are adorned with fields of iris blossoms and other flowers. It is also renowned for the “Shining Path,” when the sunset aligns with the gates and steps of the shrine, casting a golden glow over the grounds. The best times to witness this phenomenon are from late February to early March and mid to late October.
