- Blåbærsletta bubilparkering - After about an hour of travel, the scenic Blåbærsletta is reached. This is an ideal location to stretch, use the restroom, and most importantly, enjoy the breathtaking views of the Fusafjord. A 15-minute stop here provides a refreshing break amidst nature’s beauty.
From Blåbærsletta, the drive continues through stunning fjord and mountain landscapes towards the Hardangerfjord. The narrow roads pass through lush valleys and quaint villages, offering glimpses of local life. Keep an eye out for the numerous waterfalls cascading down the mountainsides, showcasing nature’s impressive power.
As the journey nears the Hardangerfjord, the landscape gradually opens up, revealing expansive panoramic views across the fjord.

Following the ferry crossing, a 10-minute drive leads to Rosendal.

Parking is available directly on the quay, offering beautiful views across the fjord and towards the surrounding mountains.
In Rosendal, it’s time for lunch. A warm meal is enjoyed at a local restaurant, where dishes are prepared with a focus on local ingredients and traditional flavors. This relaxed break is perfect before continuing to Bondhus Valley for a walk later in the day.
The stay in Rosendal lasts nearly an hour.
- Bondhusvatnet - Bondhus is one of the region’s most picturesque areas. The walk through Bondhus Valley follows a well-maintained path through a wide valley, with views of surrounding mountains and waterfalls along the way. The route gently leads to the clear waters of Bondhus Lake, where the Bondhusbreen Glacier is visible at the valley’s far end. The glacier is part of Folgefonna National Park, home to one of Norway’s largest mainland ice caps, shaped by ice over thousands of years.
The walk to the lake is approximately 2.5 km one way and takes about 30-40 minutes at a leisurely pace, with around 20-30 minutes on the return. This part of the tour offers a comfortable balance between easy walking and impressive natural scenery, without steep or challenging terrain.

A brief photo stop is made near the ferry terminal before proceeding with the second ferry crossing of the day.
