Walking tour of street art, with great food - We thought this would be a food tour so I am writing this review to clarify others expectations. I think that a food tour should be all about food, including learning about the ingredients or food culture. This was not what we experienced, if a walking art tour with food stops is your jam, you might love this. Part 1. Stopping at various shops to encourage you to buy from local artists Part 2. Walking around Maboneng to see the many beautiful murals. Part 3. Stopping at “hole in the wall” restaurants to eat where locals eat. Excellent food. We stopped at three restaurants: Nigerian, Ethiopian, and Egyptian (but ate Zulu food). Nkosi, our guide, is Zulu. We enjoyed learning about that culture and my daughter loved the language lesson as he taught her how to say word with the “clicks”. I was disappointed that when I asked about food, ingredients or recipes, I was told to google. I think this was a great experience but should be described differently on trip advisor.

A real authentic cultural experience - Had a fantastic experience, not only did I try some delicious food, but also saw amazing street art and had a great insight into the South African culture. I also felt I was off the beaten track with few, if any other tourists getting to experience the incredibly vibrant local area

Phenomenal food and art tour - Nokia did an amazing job at showing us the beautiful art that was in the Maboneng precinct. I had never seen such street art before. The food was great too. Make sure to come hungry!

Authentic and Educational - Both our driver and the guide were knowledgeable and friendly. It was a walk around a thriving area of town with fantastic graffiti and art moments scattered throughout. The intro to the different foods was quite enjoyable as we visited different country's restaurants. They were very small and locally owned and operated. That made the experience even more authentic, and the food was quite delicious. I would recommend the tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Great group of guys - There is a lot of poverty in South Africa. This group of gentlemen have worked to start this business and have a great story. They take you through a neighborhood that is being revitalized. There were four different cuisines. The food was okay. The restaurants were a little shady looking. Very much hole in the wall joints. It was interesting to learn the history of the neighborhood.

Interesting, but not all that was expected. - We bought this experience for our friends who celebrated their 60th birthday. They reported that their guide was knowledgable and most pleasant and that it was an interesting experience for them to walk and learn so much about the city. The buildings and art was interesting for them, as well as the history. They found the eating experiences different and the food tasty. They visited only three restaurants Nigerian, Ethiopian and Ghana and not all the restaurants listed. We also paid for a beer tasting, but they only had South African beers offered to them so did not feel they had that experience. They mentioned that it was a lot of walking and that when they were finished they were quite relieved. But overall, it was a good experience for them and not something they would have done themselves.
