Great way to see Soweto and learn the history - Thabo was a brilliant guide. He was fun, flexible and informative. He showed us lots of different parts of the area (in a way it’s harder to when walking), and alongside the history he gave some fascinating insights into present day South Africa. A great guy to hang out with and learn from! One Day Africa more generally were very helpful and accommodating.

Amazing experience - Thambo was an exceptional guide. He explained us all the historical features about SOWETO, the apartheid and South African culture. His knowledge was very good with a point of humanity and kindness and also with the local point of view. Even if we had saw a lot about history the previous days he was able to show us new things and challenge our minds. Cycling through SOWETO allowed us to discover more places than walking and make us a better understanding about this special place. Thambo was very careful with our security (on the road) but also gave us a lot of peacefulness. We absolutely recommend that experience.

5 star tour with an amazing guide Thabo! - Brilliant way to learn about Soweto. We had such a great tour with an amazing guide Thabo. He made us feel totally safe and welcome. The bikes have been upgraded since the last reviews and they now have gears that makes getting up the hill much easier. 5 star tour!

Thabo was the best guide!!! - Thabo was an amazing guide!! He was very nice and explained everything there is to know about Soweto. Soweto is a beautiful place that deserves to be more famous. Wether it is visiting Mandela house, having a traditional lunch and much more, Soweto is a must when you come to Johannesburg.

Excellent Guide - Great Bikes - Immersive but Safe - Me and my wife had an excellent tour around Soweto. Our guide was a genuinely friendly and nice guy called Mulalo. He had brilliant knowledge and very good way of presenting it. The bikes are modern and easy to ride, they allow you to see, and be properly immersed in the townships. You’re made to feel totally safe by the Guide, in what could be an in intimidating environment. It’s a pretty heavy/somber experience, but a very good and informative one. Should be coupled with doing the Apartheid Museum (also very good) if that’s what you’re here to learn about.

Interesting and fun - Our bicycle trip through Orlando with our guide Thbo Mzolo was interesting and fun. We learned a lot about the history of apartheid and the Soweto-uprising in 1976. He answered all of our questions and took care of us while cycling (through the left-side-traffic).

Tour never happened due to guides never showing up! - My booking was confirmed via e-mail and shortly after I received the tickets. However, the tour guide never showed up on the day. When we called the guy he just said that they didn’t operate today. Luckily we were able to book with a local guide nearby, otherwise we would’ve driven to Soweto for nothing. I’m still waiting for the refund of my money also! Terrible experience!
