Beer and Food Soweto Walking Immersion Experience - This was an incredible and meaningful tour that gave us the chance to interact with locals and explore places we never would have discovered on our own. We sampled most of the local beers and food like chicken feet, kota, fish, pap, and minced meat sausage—and even took the local taxi/bus! Our guide, Iwazi, was genuine and proud to share his community with us, which made the experience all the more special. Please note: the tour includes walking through neighborhoods that some visitors may not be used to and might initially feel outside their comfort zone. But that’s exactly what makes this tour so impactful—it’s real. Come with an open mind, and be ready to try new things. We left with our hearts and stomachs full!

Absolutely brilliant trip to understand Soweto - Thabo was a superb guide. Born and bred in Soweto, his knowledge and ability to tell the community’s story and history was just brilliant. The tour shows you much more than where most tourists go. Soweto is an integral part of modern South Africa’s history so an essential visit! The special lunch of Kota was also delicious!

Great tour! - It was fun! Our tour guide was a nice young man. We rode around town and learned about the history of Soweto. If you are a woman, please be aware that there may be catcalling. If you plan to walk around the area after the tour, bring a male companion.
