Great experience - We had an excellent day at Bishnoi Village with Om Prakash. It was an experience to go to different villages and learn about their local artisans. I thoroughly enjoyed the pottery making. The take away was the experience at his village, his family intricately weaving the rugs, and the delicious home made meal.. the Kadhi & the garlic chutney was to die for.. thank you so much Shambhu ji and Om Prakash Ji

Fantastic experience - One of the best experiences in India! The Guide is very kind and welcoming. We spotted gazelles on the way to the village. Then we tried working the clay in a local shop and finally we were guests at the Guide's house where we could admire the creation of a fantastic carpet. Finally light lunch offered by the house!

A wonderful day - One the best things ever to do while in Jodhpur and maybe in the whole Rajasthan area. Special thanks to the organizers as they accepted to do this activity at the time we chose. We had Ashok as a guide, he came to our hotel very early and waited for us. He explained what we will do before the activity starts and promised us to see all the animals In the Safari and then go to the villages. Ashok was very nice and caring, he explained everything, we got to see very rare animals including the blue bull and the blackbuck, Ashok didn't care about the time and was really focused on making the experience as much fulfilling as possible and keeping up his promise which he did. Then we went on to visit the Bishnoi villages, had masala chai with fresh cow milk, turbine scarf making, potery making, and than had lunch with his wife in his own bishnoi house, his brother showed us how they made rugs in traditional ways. The activity add says 3 to 4 hours, we spent more than 6 hours with Ashok and his family and it felt like minutes. Would not hesitate to do it again.

The community of Bishnoi - Bishnoi village is 22 km from Jodhpur. The Bishnoi faith is an offshoot of hinduism, and founded on 29 main principles, most of which promote environmental conservation. Blackbucks, chinkara (Indian gazelle), vultures, peacocks, the great Indian Bustard, and others, find a safe haven in Bishnoi, and are even allowed to graze freely in their farmlands. The Bishnois consume opium regularly, and it is an important part of their religious rituals. Though opium is banned in India, it is grown in the hinterlands of Rajasthan for it makes an important part of sacred rituals.

Chilling experience - Bad experience. You take a ride with a jeep (you would not need any jeep because all paved roads) take you to the house of one, it is not a village, it is not a traditional house is a brick house. Just 10 minutes to show you the opium ritual. A real tourist joke. From here they take you to three stores with exorbitant prices for fabrics and terracotta. These shops are located on the state road, if interested you can go by your own means. You don't see any animals and no villages. Really lost time and money. DO NOT GO

Uninteresting jeep tour - This “safari” is of no interest. The Bishnois live in modern houses. The traditional habitat has been kept nearby for tourists. The tour consists of stops at different shops (potter, carpet weaver, fabric manufacturer). We can see some antelopes, a quick passage through a village allows us to take some beautiful photos.
