In autumn, when the mountain grasses dry and harden, mountain goats descend to the dark fir forests in the valley. Cold autumn winds lift the morning fog from the valley, rolling over the rocky outcrops that reach into the sky. This is when the buckwheat girl hides from prying eyes. Few mountaineers know how she became lost among the rocks and cliffs of the steep Prisanko and how she turned to stone.
• The Russian chapel - This chapel served as a powerful motivator for Russian prisoners of war to endure the inhumane efforts and violence of Austro-Hungarian guards during the construction of the road across the mountain pass. The verse of Austrian poet Peter Rosegger reminds us of the futility of war and everything associated with it:
