- Jeongbang Waterfall - Jeongbang Waterfall
This waterfall is a symbol of Jeju Island and is the only waterfall in Asia that cascades from land directly into the sea. Visitors can enjoy dipping their feet in the water. The rock wall of Jeongbang Waterfall features the Chinese characters ‘Seobulgwacha.’ Legend has it that an envoy from Qin Shi Huang visited Yeongju Mountain (now Mount Halla) in Jeju Island in search of the herb of immortality and inscribed it on a rock. Jeongbang Waterfall is surrounded by rocks, so visitors must tread carefully, and while the stairs are easy to descend, navigating the area can be challenging. As the only natural waterfall in Asia that flows into the sea, it offers stunning scenery, especially when rainbows appear in photographs. Jeongbang Falls is one of Jeju Island’s top 10 hidden gems and a must-visit tourist spot.
- Jeju Stone Park - Jeju Stone Culture Park
Stone Culture Park is a museum and ecological park that thoroughly showcases Jeju’s stone culture, known as the land of stones. The exhibition hall opened on June 3, 2006, seven years after construction began. Stone Culture Park, where visitors can explore Jeju’s stone culture, is vast, so a leisurely visit is recommended. The park is located in front of Oreum, a natural heritage unique to Jeju, and following the stone castle-like structure leads to the entrance, offering clear views of the surroundings.
Upon entering and following the viewing path, visitors can see various stone statues depicting the tale of Seolmundae Halmang and her son, General Ohbaek. The museum is located underground.
- Woljeongri Beach - Jeju’s coastal road offers a glimpse into the lives of haenyeo (female divers) harvesting seafood. Witnessing the haenyeo in action is a rare and fortunate experience. Drive along the coastal road by Woljeong-ri Beach Road to capture or photograph Jeju’s sea. Continue along the coastal road to Seongsan Sunrise Peak and enjoy Jeju’s natural beach road.
Any day you witness the haenyeo harvesting is truly a lucky day.
- Haenyeo Museum - The Jeju Haenyeo Museum is situated in a fishing village overlooking the white sandy beach in Sehwa-ri, Gujwa-eup. It showcases materials related to the ocean, fishing villages, folklore, and fishing, with a focus on Jeju’s haenyeo culture, which dates back to ancient times. All exhibits inside and outside the museum were donated by haenyeo. The exhibition hall also features a donated and relocated haenyeo’s house, along with displays on food culture, childrearing, semi-urban farming, and Yeongdeunggut culture. The 7-minute video is highly recommended.
The haenyeo’s skills are acquired through long-term training and experience. Typically, they start learning to swim and dive in shallow village waters at age 8 and become junior haenyeo around age 15. Haenyeo work requires a high level of skill, as they must hold their breath and work for over a minute while enduring strong water pressure at depths of 15 meters.

Seongsan Ilchulbong - World natural heritage site, Jeju’s top destination
This location also hosts haenyeo performance shows. However, performances may be canceled on bad weather or rainy days. The haenyeo performance time is 2 pm. Jeju is an island formed by a volcanic eruption in the sea, and Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak resembles a castle, hence the name Seongsan, while Ilchulbong means a peak where the sun rises. The outer shell of the circular shape has 99 stone pillars, resembling a crown from above. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the top from the ticket office. After reaching the summit, visitors naturally head to the haenyeo performance beach. Sangumburi Crater - Jeju Sangumburi Crater is a parasitic volcanic crater of Hallasan Mountain.
It is the only submerged volcano on Jeju Island.
The outer circumference of the crater is 2,067 meters, the inner circumference is 756 meters, and the depth ranges from 100 to 146 meters, forming a conical cliff with a floor area of about 8,000 pyeong. The crater rarely emitted lava; instead, a deep hole was created by an explosion, scattering material in all directions with only a small amount accumulating around it. Although the crater’s diameter and depth are larger than Baeknokdam, water does not accumulate and flows out to the sea through the basalt gravel layer of the crater wall. Such a crater is called a maar, and Sangumburi Crater is unique in Korea, with only a few found in Japan and Germany worldwide.
