• Hamdeok Beach - As you stroll along Jeju Olle Course 19, you’ll encounter Hamdeok Beach, renowned for its emerald waters. Situated in Hamdeok-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, it is also known as ‘Hamdeok Seoubong Beach’ due to the presence of Seoubong Peak nearby. Just 20km from Jeju Airport, this beach feels like a different world. The tall palm trees at the entrance, the emerald sea contrasting with the white sand, and the clear water with transparent sand and seaweed create a stunning scene. Among Jeju Island’s many beaches, Hamdeok Beach, along with Hyeopjae Beach and Gimnyeong Beach, is noted for its beautiful sea color. The shallow, clear waters make it an ideal summer spot for families. An overpass on the west side allows visitors to walk over the sea.

• Haenyeo Museum - The Jeju haenyeo are revered as the resilient mothers and spiritual pillars of Jeju’s community. Their way of life serves as a model for humanity, with a merit-based community that makes democratic decisions. They cared for the elderly and infirm, such as Halmang Badang and Geseok, and used their earnings to support society, including villages and schools. They also devised methods to coexist with the sea, like beach sweeping and gold snatching. The cultural significance of Jeju haenyeo was recognized when it was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on November 30, 2016.

• Seongsan Ilchulbong - Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a prominent Jeju landmark, was formed around 5,000 years ago from an underwater volcanic eruption. It is especially famous for its sunrise views, considered one of Jeju Island’s top ten scenic wonders. Besides sunrise viewing, it is a popular trekking destination. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail connects two villages across the peak, while the Jijil Trail offers a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark and local culture. Walking these trails is recommended to fully experience the area, with the summit offering views of the volcanic crater and surrounding ocean. A visit to Seongsanpo Port to watch haenyeo (female divers) at work completes the experience.

• Jeongbang Waterfall - Seogwipo, covering Jeju’s southern half, enjoys abundant sunshine and warm temperatures, attracting tourists year-round. Jeongbangpokpo Falls, one of Jeju’s top three waterfalls, is a popular attraction. The water cascades 23 meters down a cliff into a pool before flowing to the sea. Behind the falls is Waljong Art Gallery, dedicated to Korean artist Lee Wal Jong, who settled in Jeju. The gallery showcases his inspiring artworks, capturing Jeju’s beauty. Its strategic location and glass-walled second floor offer stunning sea views.

• Oedolgae - Oedolgae, the starting point of Jeju Olle Trail Course 7, is a 20m high stone pillar rising from the sea. Known as ‘General Stone’ and ‘Grandma Rock’, it is said that General Choi Yeong decorated it like a general to deceive the Yuan Dynasty. The name ‘Grandma Rock’ has its own legend. These stone pillars, formed during a volcanic eruption, are scientifically known as sea stacks. Pine trees grow naturally on Oedolgae, adding to its picturesque charm. Its appearance changes with the viewing angle, showcasing nature’s beauty.

• Daepo Haean Jusangjeolli Cliff - The columnar joints near the coast in the eastern Jungmun Tourist Complex, where waves crash against dark red hexagonal stones, are a natural wonder designated as Natural Monument No. 443 (12/27/04). Standing before these joints, one can witness waves breaking into white bubbles, evoking the tales of stone carvers. The scenery is breathtaking, with waves reaching heights of about 20m during turbulence. This site is increasingly popular with tourists, who enjoy the stunning views and fresh sea air.

• Yongmeori Coast - Yongmeori Coast is named for its resemblance to a dragon diving into the ocean with its head raised (‘Yong’ means dragon and ‘Meori’ means head in Korean). This sandstone bed, formed over tens of millions of years, offers a breathtaking view. At the coast’s base is the Hamel Monument, established by the Netherlands Embassy and the Korean Foundation on April 1, 1980, to honor Hendrick Hamel’s dedication and strengthen Korean-Dutch ties.

• O’sulloc Tea Museum - The Osulloc Tea Museum, adjacent to the Seogwang tea field in Jeju, is Korea’s first tea museum, opened in 2001 by AMOREPACIFIC to promote tea and Korean traditional tea culture. It is a cultural space blending East and West, tradition and modernity, featuring a tea museum, a nature-friendly rest area, and a cafe offering diverse tea-based menus.
