- 604 AB-16A - This guided sightseeing tour covers 45 kilometers of breathtaking scenery in the Canadian Rockies. The Maligne Valley, located in Jasper National Park, is rich with wildlife, diverse plant life, and unique geological formations. As you travel through this vibrant wildlife habitat, your guide will share insights into the area’s history, ecology, and natural marvels. Although the waterfalls are currently closed due to the 2024 wildfire, the tour includes a stop at Maligne Canyon Overlook, where your guide will discuss the fire’s ecological impact and the landscape’s natural recovery process. Venturing further into Maligne Valley, the tour stops at Medicine Lake, where impressive limestone cliffs tower over the shoreline. A brief walk here offers insights into the lake’s geology and excellent photo opportunities. From Medicine Lake, the journey continues through sub-alpine forests, which are ideal habitats for moose, bears, and other wildlife, with frequent sightings, though not guaranteed. At the renowned Maligne Lake, enjoy a guided 2–3 km hike along the lakeshore, taking in the glacial-blue waters, mountain views, and forested surroundings. After the hike, you can enjoy a packed lunch you bring or purchase from the Maligne Lakehouse Café (additional cost) before heading back to Jasper.

- Important Note regarding Maligne Canyon Waterfalls: Due to damage caused by last summer’s wildfire, access to Maligne Canyon is currently closed by Parks Canada for infrastructure repairs to ensure visitor safety. If these repairs are not completed prior to your selected tour date, the short walk to view waterfalls in Maligne Canyon will not be possible. In this case, the tour will proceed with a slightly altered itinerary, offering alternative stops to showcase the area’s unique beauty. This includes a visit to Maligne Lookout, where you can view the dramatically changed landscape from a high vantage point, and additional time at Medicine Lake, featuring a short walk along the shore for stunning perspectives of the lake surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. Please rest assured that the tour length and price remain unchanged, and the overall experience will still provide incredible opportunities to explore and learn about the Maligne Valley’s natural wonders.
