Discover the UNESCO-listed Tijuca National Rainforest and the iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue! Perched atop Corcovado Mountain (710m / 2330ft), the Christ Redeemer Monument is Brazil’s most renowned landmark, situated in the first sector of the Tijuca Forest National Park. The moderate hike begins at Parque Lage, located at the base of Corcovado Mountain. This park is adorned with Atlantic Rainforest, a stunning and grand old mansion, and numerous century-old palm trees. The trail, which takes about 2 hours, winds through the preserved Atlantic forest of the Tijuca National Park, leading to one of the city’s most breathtaking views from the mountain’s summit! The view from the top is incredibly rewarding and is considered one of Rio’s most privileged viewpoints.
