This is a very good... - This is a very good experience for anyone visiting Tokyo who has an interest in Sumo wrestling. The practice session lasted about an hour and the wrestlers were glad to pose with us for photos afterwards. Be aware that you will have to remove your shoes to enter the practice areas and to sit on a floor mat while watching the wrestlers.

Wonderful sumo experience - This was an amazing tour. Very knowledgeable guide and made the whole process really enjoyable. We got lucky and saw some of the best wrestlers in makuuchi as well as a former yokozuna (hakuho / miyagino oyakata no less). Everyone was really wonderful. Worth it and highly recommend.

Sensational sumos - This stable is highly rated We thoroughly enjoyed watching all stages of the morning practice We were able to gain some knowledge of the process of each encounter With notes passed by our guide While for us sitting cross legged for over 2 hours was a bit difficult We would do it again Just to see the precision strength dedication that all the sumos showed us Highly recommend

Frantastic sumo experience! - Fantastic sumo experience I'm a regular sumo fan, watch the tournaments regularly and have been on a sumo stables tour before. This tour was the best I've heard of. It's a Yokozuna's stable (Hakuko, the current top sumo champion) and has Enho, a smaller rikishi (sumo wrestler). The guide, Mako Izumida-san, was very helpful, made sure we knew what to do and what would be happening, and was helpful in getting group and individual photos with the sumo guys afterwards. The stable practice area is small and intimate, you're just a few feet away from the rikishi, and can see everything easily. Other tours sometimes have 40-50 people from different tour groups join to watch, making it very crowded & difficult to see. Most of the entire morning was spent in sumo practice bouts, with very little of the routine exercise that gets a bit tedious to watch after 20, 40, 60 minutes. Izumida-san provided an informative handout with some of the rules of sumo. For beginners, more explanation would be helpful, either in writing or beforehand, to understand more of what you are seeing. Or just do some googling about sumo from Wikipedia or other sources so you know the basic history and rules of the sport. It's a fascinating sport of Japan, and very different from sports in other countries. I would take friends to see this tour again, and highly recommend it.

Amazing time at Isegahama stable morning training! - Just being able to watch them train in person and up close at their stable was an exciting experience for me. Time at the end to talk to them and take pictures was the best! Appreciate this being allowed on the tour and appreciate their time and support for us to do so.

Better than we originally expected - The intensity with which they practice and the non-stop action. Also, the reverence and respect shown throughout. Great experience.

A recommended experience.Just make sure you can sit on the floor for a long time - The meet up point was tricky to find. Luckily another group was more knowledgeable of the district and led us to the right point..At the end of the session, we were rushed out the door, with little time to unkink from sitting on the floor for an hour..and we were returned to our start point. A debrief of what we saw with answers to questions would have been good

Good way to watch the... - Good way to watch the sumo wrestlers in action. Pre practice briefing could be given outside the stable/somewhere quieter as struggled to hear what was being said when this was done next to the main road in front of the station.
