Wonderful Tour - Highly Recommend - Upon meeting Chris on the morning of our tour, his calm and genuine demeanor instantly relaxed us and set the tone for such an amazing day. First, he was very conscientious and made sure the gear he supplied for us fit well and we were comfortable. He brought everything we needed (boots, rain gear, ect. ) which was especially appreciated on this rainy day. Chris’s passion and respect for nature, the culture, and the area he calls home was so evident throughout the day. “Hidden Wonders” is a perfect name for this tour as we saw so many amazing sights without any crowds. Sometimes we were the only people there. This led to us really feeling immersed in the natural beauty of the area. Nothing about this tour was rushed. Chris made sure to let us know to go at our own pace, whether than meant walking a little further up a beautiful scenic waterfall trail or spending some extra time contemplating an ancient cypress tree. We really enjoyed conversing with Chris as he shared his knowledge of local flora, geology, history and culture. Even on a day where Mt Fuji was covered in clouds, we can say we had such a full, fun, and interesting experience at Kawaguchico thanks to this tour! Thank you Chris and we can't wait to return one day!

Amazing tour guide! - We had a fantastic day out with Chris visiting beautiful shrines, woods, lakes, waterfalls and the most amazing cave. Chris was very knowledgeable about the local area and so helpful. He also provided very good quality and very clean boots, socks, walking sticks and waterproof clothing. A lot of thought has been put in to making the day really well thought out. Lunch included a stop at a fantastic burger place and a stop for tea at a beautiful spot overlooking a lake. Thank you Chris – it was a huge highlight of our two week family holiday in Japan.

- Our day was just as specified - nature up close, quiet and personal. Chris was very knowledgable, has a clear passion for nature but equally important - he was very personable. We really appreciated the loan of the walking boots and the sticks. He modified the day to work around the weather - and it ended up being perfect. The cup of tea on the beach in front of Mount Fuji was unforgettable. Thank you

Magical Tour - Chris was an amazing guide around Mt. Fuji! He made sure we had ample opportunity to fuel up at local eateries while taking us around to beautiful shrines, waterfalls, and lakes all while providing tons of interesting information about himself, the area, and the local culture. Very highly recommend if you don’t want to have to research the area yourself but want to see some epic sights all in the view of Fuji-San (if you’re lucky with the weather!).

Personal tour of Mt Fuji area with Chris - My daughter and I had a WONDERFUL time with Chris!! He is such a gentle soul and very kind! He helped us get train tickets to Tokyo for that evening and dropped us off at the station in plenty of time to catch our train!!!😊 We LOVED the delicious pastries and coffee ENJOYED with a BEAUTIFUL view! The burgers for lunch were DELICIOUS as well!!!😋 Chris is a wealth of knowledge on Mt Fuji and the surrounding area! I ESPECIALLY enjoyed the trek to the top of the waterfall, but also the Dragon Cave, tea and toe-dipping in Lake Saiko and our last peaceful trek through the woods!!!😊 Chris, we just wanted you to know that we sure ENJOYED our day with you!!!😃 And Fuji-San answered your prayers…she showed herself to us on our train ride out of town on our way to Tokyo. I’m attaching a photo!!!

Worth every Penny - Chris is an amazing Tour Guide. Having lived in the area with his Japanese wife Yumi for 25 years + their knowledge, understanding, passion and love and care for their culture, surroundings, history, community and each other overflows in everything they do. From hidden gems and sights (both visual and cultural) to the finest local watering and eating holes, special spots for picture opportunities, swimming in Lake Saiko at the foot of Mt Fuji, Waterfalls, Dragon Cave, Lava Forest are amongst the many highlights of our tour with Chris. Nothing was rushed, he "guided" us while allowing us to set the tempo of the day, provided walking boots, towels and even Tea while sitting at the lake and was always full of knowledge and enthusiasm for everything he shared with us. So relaxed was the day we long overstayed our allotted time, but it was of no concern to him, if we were happy and engaged in his world, he was happy to stay out with us and share his world. We have been lucky to have travelled and seen many places and I have no hesitation in saying this tour was hands down the best I have ever taken. Book this tour, you will not regret it.

A wonderful tour - would highly recommend - What a lovely six hours we spent with Yumi today exploring the wonderful forests and hills around the Mount Fuji area. Starting with a visit to a local shrine and learning more about the ancient woodland and temple before visiting a wonderful waterfall finishing off with a lovely break at a local coffee van. Then on to more local sights sadly accompanied by rain and low cloud although this did add to the atmosphere of quiet and the tranquility of water during the drive. A lovely stop for lunch where we had excellent local Hoto noodles in a delicious broth. Then on to the lava forests full of moss and hidden caves and crevices. A scenic trip back to our hotel encouraged the mountain to listen to Yumi’s prayers as the clouds parted and we got a wonderful glimpse of Mount Fuji. A fantastic day - thank you Yumi for sharing the best sights of your home area.
