excellent guide and driver - Initially we were quite concerned with the strange communications with the Tour company running this. They are Bali- based and gave us the phone no. for Mr Happy (I`m not kidding) in Jakarta. Mr Happy required us to text our voucher details as he had no knowledge of us or our tour - for the next day . Eventually we had to ring him again ( international mobile calls -? cost to us )and we got a pick-up time. The tour itself was really good- exactly as described with an excellent guide - Mansour ,and a very skilful driver - much appreciated in the Jakarta traffic jam. We had assumed these amazing boats were historic , but we toured the working wharf where they were loading to take goods to islands . An amazing sight - well worth seeing with many interesting photo opportunities- the wooden boats , their hazardous "gangplanks", and their contrast with the backdrop of new apartment blocks. The city centre part of the tour included a private visit to a puppet maker`s studio which was fascinating , and viewing old colonial buildings and canal area. The museum is a fairly typical main city collection of the country`s history and diversity- great if you are into artefacts and fossils. We enjoyed Mansour`s conversation and insight into Indonesia - he gave a local perspective.
