  • Glodok Chinatown - The first stop on the tour is Glodok Chinatown, which you’ll visit by car. This area is rich in history, with Chinese communities having settled here since the dynasty, colonial, and riot eras. Glodok offers a lot to explore, especially its local markets filled with authentic Chinese food, goods, and shops. You can also enjoy a cup of tea with a story behind it after walking, shopping, or sightseeing. The tour will then continue to the Old Town via Tuk Tuk.
  • Jakarta Old Town - While exploring the Old Town, you’ll be reminded of the Dutch colonial era with its unique European-Chinese architectural style. Chinatown and the Old Town are neighboring areas, historically connected by a special gate. You can explore this historical area on foot or by golf cart, learning about Jakarta’s colonial heritage. After visiting several sites, the tour proceeds to Istiqlal Cathedral by train from Kota Station to Juanda Station.
  • Kota Station - From here, you’ll take a train to Juanda Station to visit a mosque and a church. Also known as Beos Station or Kota Station, its original name was Batavia-Benedenstad Station. During the Japanese occupation, it was renamed Djakarta. ‘Beos’ stands for Batavia En Omstreken, meaning Batavia and its surroundings, highlighting its role as a railway hub connecting Batavia with other cities like Bekasi, Bogor, Bandung, and Karawang.
  • Istiqlal Mosque - After arriving at Juanda Station, you’ll walk to the Weltevreden area, a historical Dutch site, to visit Istiqlal Mosque. This is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the ninth largest in the world by capacity. Built to commemorate Indonesian independence, it was named “Istiqlal,” an Arabic word for “independence.”
  • Jakarta Cathedral - Just across the road from Istiqlal Mosque is the Jakarta Cathedral. After the Dutch East India Company arrived in 1619, the Roman Catholic Church was banned in the Dutch East Indies, limited to Flores and Timor. The Netherlands supported Protestantism and tried to limit the influence of the Holy See. The tour will then proceed to the Welcoming Statue via TransJakarta bus.
  • Selamat Datang Monument - As you enter Jakarta, you’ll see the “Patung Selamat Datang” or Welcoming Statue, a great spot for Instagram-worthy photos. Established 60 years ago by the government, the tour continues via TransJakarta bus to the National Monument (MONAS) for more photo opportunities. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or another desired location.
  • National Monument (MONAS) - After arriving at the National Monument area, you’ll have time to take photos in front of this iconic landmark. The driver will then take you back to your hotel.
